Justification
So, I setup a few trial accounts got the macros all setup and preceded to the whole 5 shaman and leveled up to 5, and I must admit I had a blast with it...it really put a new spin on the game, however, I can't convince myself that the 75 dollars a month that it would require to play like this is worth it...any comments on it?
In MY opinion it isn't worth it unless you have the money to spare.
I have 3 mages and it is ALOT of work to level and gear a single char... let alone 3-5.
If you are bored of the game otherwise then do it... if u can get enjoyment out of it without boxing then do that... in my opinion.
With the trial accounts, you can get to level 20 for free. I suggest getting at least that far before committing yourself (I wish I'd known that).
Once you get to twenty, if you're still not sure, consider going the time card route.
I've wanted to try multi-boxing for some time. I recently had a small windfall and decided to use that to fund the purchase of four extra accounts, four 60 day time cards, and two copies of keyclone. As I hadn't expected the money, I didn't feel like they had cost me anything.
Once the 60 day time cards expire, I'll assess where I've got too and whether I want to continue. If I do, I'll buy another four time cards and re-assess again after another 60 days.

ok another question, right now im running 8800's and im about to upgrade 9800s or I could try out this quad+ boxing thing, since you guys have tried out and have experience do you think upgrade is equal to or equivalent to the 'enjoyment' of running a 4-5 team box for fun?
I went from a 7800 card running 4 instances to a 8800 card running 4 instances and just wasn't a stellar difference, so I'm thinking the 8800 -> 9800 wouldn't be a huge diff either.
As far as justifying, as always it's up to you. Personally I pay all of my bills, extra on house, and savings before I have ANY play money. Then with that play money I ask, what gives me the best ROI enjoyment wise? I don't watch T.V., hate going to movies, eating/drinking out just seems horrendously expensive... I like golf but around here that's $40/game (only 4 hours of entertainment)... other thing I enjoy is racing, ROFLMAOExpensive. So for me this is by far the most cost effective entertainment.

That is my opinion, I am fairly sure you will find that pretty much everyone here that does this, is doing so because it is fun for them. Fun for different reasons I am sure, but overall because its fun. think about what else you can get with 75% a month? Go to the movies, maybe 3-4 times? Go out drinking with friends? lol 2-3. Maybe you could get cable or a phone service for that, but how entertaining is that? It's about 2.5$ per day. So if you feel bad, and want to, skip that fast food for the day, don't buy that soda from the machine. It's easy to find the money.
Psshhh, college student with no job, and I still make due (60 a month though).

We need a sticky that outlines why $75/mo is not that much:
1. Going out to bars costs more
2. Going out to clubs costs alot more
3. Very cheap compared to other hobbies (cars, stereos, hunting) if softboxing
4. Cheaper than most cellphone bills
5. WAY cheaper than TV
6. WAY cheaper than gas, in fact you'll be using alot less gas because you'll be home boxing all the time

When I started playing WoW, I stopped buying all other games. My bank balance got considerably healthier.
I quit WoW for ten months just before TBC came out. I got an Xbox instead for some quick pick-up-and-play gaming.
During those ten months, I spent about £1000 on Xboxes, subscriptions, accessories and games.
Even with five accounts, WoW costs me less than £40 a month.
WoW is teh cheap! And it's fun too.
