Despite the fact that the sequence itself may be crap .... this doesn't matter. What matter is that adding target or combat or both totally screw up the complete macro ->
Ugh...after more testing last night it seems this is in fact, still broken. I ended up doing the same thing you did and just used the reset=# with nothing else.
If it helps, I use a main macro to /assist without focus.

    Good idea!
I use an assist macro to get the newest tank-target for every mob, no [target=focustarget] or such things.

The Macros I posted in my Warlock Priest Thread are all working as expected for me. Priest is Brain. I use targettarget for targeting, switch targets quickly for DoT and run. Also have n/target/combat resets that have worked just fine as well.

Maybe it's a problem with Vampiric Embrace then? Your macro doesn't use that spell.

I'm going to spend a whole night after work today to check exactly that! :-)

"Assist" essentially resets the "reset=target" condition.

    I'd suggest switching from
    Code:
    /assist <name>
    to
    Code:
    /target [target=<name>target,harm,nodead]
since all of my /castsequence macros seem to work with that targeting system, and it's near synonymous to plain /assist.

Only if your target actually changes.

    Thanks Vyndree!

    I switched from
    Code:
    /target Nagami
    /assist
    to
    Code:
    /target [target=Nagami-target,harm,nodead]
and its working like a charm ... perfectly!
