Nobody ever got ANYWHERE in life by never being curious about the world. If they can't share your vision of how YOU want to play YOUR game then leave them be to exist in their own little world. Ignore the haters, there will ALWAYS be people who disagree with you. If it bothers you THAT MUCH, turn off general chat, explain to them how it works or leave the area. Public opinion is changing, for the better, but it takes time for the seeds of change to grow and mature.

To that, I say: keep planting. Maybe even a few seeds of corruption here and there :)

Someone called me an idiot today. I was running my team through SW and out of the blue someone whispers me /whisper idiot. It was the first time i reported anyone. I normally just ignore any negative comments. I have never reported anyone for anything until today. I just did it because I had a long FP to my next stop so i had time. The GM got right back to me though. But it never bothers me. I try and look at it from their pov. I'm sure at first glance we seem like cheaters/PLrs or something. I really don't care what they think. I have had 3 times the "good" conversations though 8)

They'll never tell you if anyone was banned for the reports so as not to give people ammo/flame bait to copy and paste everywhere lol; they'll get 'em though if there's reason

It's easy to let it get you rilled up, but it really isn't worth it.

If somebody approaches me in a civil way, asking questions and what-not, I'll be happy to discuss it with them - even the part where they think I'm cheating.

If they start off with some sort of insult, they aren't worth my time and I rarely even respond. Let them think what they want. I really don't understand the point of stopping your fun to try to convince some sour apple that you doing what you want is somehow valid, but I guess that's just me.

At first I avoided big cities like the plague. After a while I thought, what the hell, and now im just parking my alts in IF bank, or in SW AH, or where ever so I dont have to care about if they stop /follow. Even if somebody goes to badmouth, or whatever there are now people telling them wrong its multiboxing its ok, blabla (Y). Maybe my server is special but rarely encounter idiots.

If I run into idiots its usually on bg's, av tends to swarm with little kiddies. Most of the time though, its just the /w [altname] OMG WTF, and I just dont respond to that anymore. Unless im in a bad mood then i'd take on the discussion and i can go on and on doing that :P. Go EU, go PVP, go Al'Akir (alliance, otherwise easy target! :P).

Crowds of people will feed off of each other. If a person or group starts to hassle you for being a "botter" or "farmer" or "no life hacker" then other people who wander by will automatically join in. The larger the group the easier it is for people to join in with them.

At the same time, others will watch silently and might be pretty intrigued at the fact that despite the abuse and reports, you're still around. They may find out more about you and/or multiboxing and develop a much different opinion than that of the average ignoramus.

So hang in there, the people who will learn to understand your side of it and support you are the sort of people that it is worthwhile to impress. No one wants to impress some mindless idiot who jumps in with the crowd and tries to argue that the fact that you have more money is something to be ashamed of.

As for me, I do as others have said- I avoid being seen as much as I can, I'm not interested in being noticed. I just want to level my toons and see how far I can get with them. I typically ignore the idiots and will reply to people who are supportive or genuinely curious. That way I avoid the stress of wanting to club some moron to death with his own arm.

That's rough. I have yet to experience any rejects but then again, my team is only level 8. I have had a few people ask what I'm doing and a few who were interested and want to do it too. Of course, I sent them here. I did have one person who knew exactly what multiboxing was and actually mimicked my toons. I haven't been in the major cities much but I'm expecting the worst so hopefully it won't be that bad.

But I agree with so many above me, it isn't worth your time to have to explain yourself to those who choose to not understand what we do. It's their loss. While they're sitting in Shat or wherever spamming the trade channel for a group, you'll be running it and getting all the loot. Those people are why I multibox.
