Default New to multi-boxing says Hi!

    Greetings all.
Let me first start with commending you all on a great work on this site. When I started to read on the forums it really fired up my interest. So now as of yesterday I am a new multi-boxer and a new wow player.
I am "just" doing two at the same time, but I am sure when I get the hang of things that it will lead up to 5 (: .
Since I am completly new to wow I dont know all the synergies of all the classes and wich goes well with eachother.
My setup that I am trying with now is a paladin+warlock.
My idea is to use the blue blimp to tank and having warlock dotting up the monster. While the paladin stands there and doing damage and throwing a heal if neccesary.
    Is this a valid setup?
And could you perhaps give me some pointers wich speccification on both classes that will work well with eachother if there is any.
Keep up the good work all

    Welcome Gloggan,

I am also pretty new to multiboxing myself as you'll see from my signature, but I've been playing the game since beta, so I think I can offer some useful advice there.

The paladin, specced right is probably the best tank for smaller groups in the game at the moment (particularly for 5-man dungeons). That said, their DPS is nowhere near what a pure-DPS class' would be (mage, warlock, hunter etc).

If you're going with a 2-player team I'd suggest supplanting a priest for that paladin. The shadow priest will bring much more DPS and can still heal / res as needed.

Alternately, you could make your multiboxing far more simple by just going with two of the same class, say two mages or two warlocks.

This will mean that you would spent much more of the game learning the game and the classes, rather than the complexities of two disparate classes within a multibox setup. Just a suggestion.

Hey and welcome to the forums! I'm new also (there's alot of us I see) and yes, one day you'll be 5-boxing it =P I started with 2 in September and moved to 5 a few days after I discovered this site. But...starting with two...maybe two mages? or warlocks? /agree with Oz

Also, maybe two shaman. They are pretty popular around here. Since you just started, it doesn't hurt to play around with different combos. Figure out what you enjoy playing and go for it. Since you're only running two you don't need a balanced crew just yet. Whatever you choose, have fun and good luck leveling!
