All parties I have recently teamed up with appear to be highly a-social. Every, and I mean -every- attempt I make at socialising, making contact with them, makes me feel like I am hitting a brick wall.

They always just stand there, looking all "wwwuuuuuuhhhhhhh" without actually saying anything...! EVER! It's just so freakin' rude! It's like people these days turned to ice and don't even care the slightest about the people they play online games with anymore. They just play the game and don't even bother with -anything- else.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

...This all started when I started multiboxing.

I've ran into it a bit, but I'm no longer surprised considering how many people stand and stare as I run through Orgimmar, or when I'm waiting for the blimp, or when I'm standing in xroads chatting with a friend. Sometimes when that happens it's "gather 'round folks and check out the multibox show!"

In a party I think it's because:

1) they're dumbfounded because they've never encountered a multi-boxer up close before, or
2) they're dumbfounded how quickly mobs are dying, or
3) they're dumbfounded that these toons are so incredibly sychronized in everything they do. 8|

"What kinds of nerds..." or.."there's no damn way one person..." is what I'd say if I had never encountered a multi-boxer before. Of course the next words out of my mouth would be "that's pretty damn cool." :thumbup:

Everything in this game appears the same, day in/day out. Nothing is out of the ordinary. We look tremendously different. Most folks don't like to interact with something they can't wrap their minds around.

Another thing could be the randomness of running into those people who are quiet and just want to get the job done. It's creepy being around those kinds of people but you know what, they're probably thinking the same thing about being around a multi-boxer.

I've found quite the opposite. When I say something, everyone in the party copies me. It's like being grouped with a bunch of 5 year olds sometimes.

And don't get me started on the way they stand right behind me... you'd think they were afk following or something.

Yeah, I've noticed the copying as well. It's so annoying! I think they're mocking me, really. On purpose. >

i noticed the silent wall BEFORE i started multiboxing.. hence why i sorta said f-it, i'll be my own groups.

for being a social game, i think it's at the point where people just group up, kill x, loot say 'bye' (sometimes, if yer lucky) and cruise off. social interaction is a speedbump on the road to loot for most.

I agree! People always seem fascinated (or confused) by it. I swear they're trying to figure out if I'm a gold farmer or bot.

I have yet to experience the a-socialness of multiboxing. I guess people just assume that since we have our own entourage we don't need anyone else. I've mostly gotten random people following me (starting to get annoying but what can ya do) and asking me why I pay $75 a month. ("Is it that much funner?") I haven't hit the haters yet but have met a few really curious ones (sent them here ) I have a 5-box team though so it's true, I don't need anyone and since I've played Alliance since I started this game (now Horde) I don't mind if people don't talk to me. (Alliance on my main's server is just BAD)

People do copy my team though. They jump, everyone else around them jumps. Amusing for now but eventually...

If you're in the right spot for it, do something that makes them die. When my druids were level9, a 70 lock was following me with /follow in Darnassus. You can imagine what happened when I ran the character he was following off the tree...

I keep getting comments asking how much money do I make when I sell these accounts. So I finally put in General Chat to realize that there is no money to be made in selling accounts on ebay. I spend way more money buying the CD's and cost of playing the game there is nothing left to gain in selling. One person said...my friend sold his account for 450 bucks on ebay. Woohooooo....I am glad for him. I can imagine how many hours he/she spent playing the game. I dont fancy myself making 2 bucks an hour as a sign of tremendous profit.

Ooo...one last thought. When people "discover" something that is unique they get excited about it. Many people (9million) do not know of multi-boxers. Word of mouth is why many know of us now. You have those who like us and then those who do not like us. You can see why this can affect how others may view us. So please be patient with the players who are curious. We are representing a distinctive class of players. Be proud of it.
