Default Need help with Xkeys please

Just got my ps2 xkeys pro in today. I can't it to function properly though. When I assign a macro like the one below and press the key to execute it, it simply opens up the "Say" channel in WoW and types in the exact same thing. It's like a command is needed at the end to make it execute or something.

    /cast totemic call

I've searched the forums trying to find an answer, but there are so many posts on xkeys that I haven't found anything. Am I missing something? I kind of thought this thing would store macros in it's memory and not require an assigned button. I guess I could use like every button bar on Bongos and assign the buttons to things like Ctrl /Alt Functions keys or something, but I was hoping to not have to go there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think of XKeys as additional keys rather than a macro environment. yes you can pass a sequence of keystrokes on a single button press but this is borderline botting (I know Blue have said it is ok but most of us still don't trust it )

So you bind an Skyes button to CTRL-ALT-F3 or similar and use Trinity (unlimited macros) to have a macro button bound to CTRL-ALT-F3 this macro would look like this

    Code:
    #showtoolip
    /cast Totemic Call
or you could leave it as a spell button by simply dropping the spell onto the button bar.
