Interesting new Keyboard

Not sure if this is well known or not, but it's new to me. Friend just linked it to me and I thought it was pretty snazzy.

Basically, each key has an OLED screen on it. You can customize what shows up there, whether its an image (animated also) or even a quicktime movie it says in there. Would be pretty snazzy for what we do to have that (kind of like how you see those XKey Pros with the wow icons, except without all the printout and cutout work!).

The only downside of course is that its a new technology and currently costs about 1600 bucks... Will have to wait and see when the price drops.

It's pretty neat, but so not worth the money in my opinion. :P

Welcome to 10 years ago.

This thing has been around (unreleased) for years now. They finally put it out on the market with an insanely high price tag.

I actually posted it here a few months ago.

Yeah, I should have done a search on it before posting it. It seemed all shiny and new, didn't realize it was around for so long.

When the price per key drops I'd be interested... but http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/88ee/ is 3 keys for $135... or $45/key... the full keyboard with 113 keys is only $14.15 a key... which is a lot better but still a tad over the top...

Bring the price per key down into the $1-3 range and these things will fly off the shelf. I'd happily pay $200 for an x-keys pro with this type of key cap... it would certainly solve the profile issues I have now of trying to remember which mage spell is my shamans lightning bolt!
