Default Possible new bug, or just me being a donkey?

Had to do a reinstall, went back to XP (don't ask ) and got everything reset with licensing and latest 1.8f version.

Have now set up my usual configuration of display1 being full-screen main and display2 having 4 1/4 screen's for the rest of the team with PiP set as f6, f7, f8, f9, 10 for full BOOBS functionality.

The issue I am having is twofold, firstly BOOBS isn't working at all and secondly (possibly the cause of issue 1) is that every command I run initially opens up fullscreen on display1. I have to quit the instance (hitting the "back" option on the login screen) and then reconnect to the account and it will be placed in it's correct location on display2.

I'm able to replicate this issue consistently but since I haven't seen anyone post about it yet I'm open to the idea it might just be me, though I have made sure that I have maximiser enabled and all the other settings are as they used to be when it worked for me under VIsta so I'm not sure what the root cause actually could be.

after your re-install.. please check to make sure your license is still valid (your system-id could have changed)

right-click the tool tray/ about keyclone

Am at work atm but it's definately valid as I pm'd you for the transfer as soon as I got the reinstall done and you did your usual support job and had it changed across in about an hour

Had about an 8 hour 5-box session yesterday and apart from the two issues here everything else worked fine (was getting lots of graphical artifacting though but don't think that will be related) so I don't think it's anything to do with the licence but can recheck in a few hours once I get home and also post my ini if need be.

Speaking about that, is there anyway to modify the ini to show the characters used for things like PiP rather than the ASCII code for them, maybe just add a lookup table internally. Just a small suggestion as I had a pain trying to work it out the first time I went in to change a PiP key under 1.8e when I couldn't find a way to reset the key.

reset the key? you mean to clear the PiP key? ah.. just click in the hotkey area and hit 'del'... should clear the key
sorry... really nowhere to show that info on the small little dialog. i usually try to make del do most removal tasks

Still having the issue and PiP & BOOBS isn't working so here's my ini to see if anything is incorrect in it. I've checked WoW clients and they are all set to be windowed and maximized so I can't see what the issue could be.

when you say it does work.. what exactly do you mean? do your wows not pop up? do they not maximize? or do they maximize but don't jump when you hit the pip key?

    it looks like you assigned F6, F7, F8, F9, and F10 to regions 'region0' thru 'region4'

if you click on region0, and hit F7... region1 should swap with region0... hitting F6 at that point will bring region0 back

    is this not happening?

(btw, you should UNCHECK auto-add-windows-titled... its not needed when you use commands)

    Default

    That's correct.

The first thing that happens when I select any account and press connect is that it pops up as fullscreen on display1 (region0) rather than it's correct region. If I quit it and re-connect it will then open up in the correct region on display2, and this happens for all 4 accounts on region1-4.

Once I have it set up and am ingame, pressing f6-10 does nothing. If I press F7 for example while focused in region0 the windows stay where they are rather than say account switching from region1 to region0 and account3 switching to region1 to replace it.

Was working perfectly under Vista but since the switch back to XP it's been like this.

i think the real issue to attack is that the command isn't 'taking' on the first pass. this makes me wonder what's going on.

in order for keyclone to 'miss' a wow when it launches, another window would have to be popping up first and is the 'main' window of the process. i have seen this twice so far... both in vista... one for xp sp1 compatibility mode and the other for some language keyboard thing.

right click your wow.exe and check properties. see if there is anything like this somewhere.

Just checked it then...there is no compatability set under the properties tab (and am running XP SP2)

I unchecked the auto-add box but then once I had the instances running nothing was getting passed between them. I re-enabled it and keys were passed once again.

I did see when I was running Vista that having windows explorer open on the root of a wow folder added it to the running instance list in keyclone...wonder if that could be the issue here, though I didn't see this issue under Vista when it was adding explorer to the list because its title was World of Warcraft. Will close windows explorer down and re-try it in a sec just to rule that out.

    [EDIT]

Windows explorer being related to the problem has been confirmed to not have any effect. I closed it down, used keyclone to connect to account1 linked to region1 and it opened up fullscreen region0, I closed it and re-opened and it went to region1 as expected.

if you are using commands... you really shouldn't need/use the auto-add.

the only reason it works with the auto-add is because, once wow is running, the auto-add finds it.. determines its not in the list already.. and adds it.

    this tells me:
    1. there is a problem with your commands
    2. commands are fine, but there is something else running wow.exe somehow hooked in

since your commands look right, and i'll assume you used the 'program...' button to locate/pick the wow.exe file... i'll move on to option #2

    find your wow.exe. right-click/ properties/ compatibility ...
o is 'turn off advanced text services for this program' checked or unchecked?
o is 'run this program in compatibility mode for' checked and if so... what is selected?

    talk to you soon
