It looks like it does click where the mouse is currently located, which can be a tough cookie, especially when you use maximizer and a mouse clone app like Synergy. I wonder if this could be used in conjunction with autohotkey to place the cursor in the center of the screen on keypress.... although again we start to wade through murky waters with regards to legitimacy.
It indeed does activate wherever your mouse is currently placed. What happens is when you mouse out of the client, it still registers the cursor in its last known location, which is why you have to zoom in to get the best effect. I notice frequently that if i mouse over my slave clients quickly, often tooltips will be left open as though my mouse is over them, this is because thats where the client last registered my cursor and considers it to still be there, even though it is actually over in a completely different location.

I imagine if you used some kind of script to move your mouse that would easily be considered automation.
