    Default @Ellay about video encoding.

I used to make a lot of videos for DAOC using the FFDshow codec and Vdub however apparently over the years the quality appears to have gotten worse while the file sizes have gotten bigger. I watched your video aboutthe arenas, and was wondering if you would mind sharing how you encode and end up with quality and small size.

Codecs make your movies smaller not the programs that utilize the codecs.

Ive been using divx when stage 6 was still up, i enjoyed using it, quality was good enough.

I use to make alot of game videos, I used Sony Vegas and encoded in WM9 (windows media codec) and reduced the fps from 30 (what i recorded at) to 10 or 15 based on the pace of the action. Choosing the lowest fps you can is a good tactic to drastically reduce file size and if done right people wont even notice it.

Actually to be honest my video quality and the file size stink compared to most I've seen out there. I use Sony Vegas and the divx codec to render it. I'm not sure if that is even optimal anymore due to stage6 no longer being around.

I use Vegas 5.0(I need to upgrade..lol) and WMV9 codec; I tried divx but the filesize ballooned compared to wmv, though I haven't toyed with the FPS at all...if that does indeed shrink the size I'll be toying with that some...I usually use a Quality Slider render rather than manual settings
