Default Using potions on specific toons

I've recently got all my toons up to 375 alch so we can get this nice new trinket, and wanted to a way to tell a toon to drink a potion though macros...

On this post, torytrae wants to just click on a portrait to use a macro...

I was thinking if each party member had a heath potion in a different slot on their bag there might be a way to setup a macro to use the script '/use <inventory slot>' and put the ptions on different locations in their bags... but it would need 5 seperate keyboard keys to use and that seems like a lot right now.... and they mine as well just have /use potion bound to their own key and have the other keys do nothing on the other toons...

I'm still trying to work through this and will edit it if I can think more clearly but can anyone think of a way I can use '/use <inventory slot>' in conjunction with mouse over party members...

Not in front of WoW right now, but can't you use the /use command just like you would with a trinket? Just put it in a macro and assign it to a button/buttons.

    /use Polyjuice Potion

(sorry for only remembering a Harry Potter potion)

becuase everyone would drink and I might be wasting that 2 min cooldown if one toon only had 100 damage

perhaps that was a bit confusing?

and on closer inspection, I run 5 toons... but thank you for taking the time to bump by post and increase your post count

Becuase pots and healthstones are self use only, and smart casting/ smart using was disabled for combat in 2.1, I don't think there is any way other than to bind a key for each toon.

If you have keys that are normally bound to cast healing spells on a particular toon, modify them so that particular toon quaffs a pot or uses a healthstone - use the modifiers shift, ctrl or alt. That might save on using additional keys...
