Ya stressful 24 hours, not sure what caused it - possibly hacked or... *shrug. Either way making the necessary backups now so this doesn't happen in the future even if hacked.

Hats off to Majestic Clown for who was not well and off work sick who took time out dying to rattle his brain against it, and to Wilbur and LoS for trying to help as well.

Was it an update that got rolled back? I was on for a bit before they seemed to crash, saw a lot of flashy new features that looked rather tantalizing. Or is that titillating? Whatever it is, it made me wet.

What kind of updates did you see? ><

Yeah it was woltboard3 or whatever it's called...I think we're on 2 again, it had ratings for each thread and at the bottom of eage thread's page it showed Similar Threads...not particularly useful but neat I guess...

I still heartily stand by the "Don't fix what ain't broke" mentality though; I'd be happy on the old forums still and I JUST got used to these damn things, quit changing it so much ;p

Edit: Ellay, it looked like a board upgrade...it had an announcement at the top that said due to database issues to use the Password Reset function(not ENTER your pass, just hit "Reset password" link and it would email you the new one); I had to leave for work before I got my mail though and obviously my old login still works as the original cookie I had saved automatically logged back in when you guys reverted it

Umm, a new graphic at the top, some kind of post rating system with 1-5 little 3d bubbles.... Actually, a lot of stuff that used little multi-colored 3d bubbles.

Yeah what he said. It was Burning Board 3, and had the ratings and similar threads.

Ahh, this was after it went down which was about 5~ ish pm EST on Sunday. That was repeated attempts to fix it. All those flashy items are features of this software product that are turned on by default. A lot of them were disabled on the transition from phpbb2 to this forum layout as I wanted minimal impact on people's eyes when making the switch.

Ahhh I see...yea the ratings are just a silly extra that we don't need and those Similar threads didn't look too similar to me...better to save the processing algorithms with 'em off lol

Ah, gotcha. Both ratings systems and similar posts seem kinda useless really. The pretty, shiny buttons were enough to get me excited, that's all.
