For obvious reasons, shamans can only get so far. Besides, it's always a matter of gear and earth elemental cooldowns. And, of course, how much blood are you willing to pay with. Doable does not necessarily mean that your bones are not going to be multi-fractured afterwards...

Maybe some heroic-experienced five-shamans players in this community are willing to add a small section about heroics to the wiki? Estimated required spell damage, hit points and such would be great info for future "heroicians".

This is the build I most commonly see for ele-based shaman. I would make sure you have full ghost wolf talents ready to go at 20 and otherwise just march down the ele tree.

Thanks for the great write-up on the Wiki. Only problem is now I really don't know what grouping I want to do. I'm really only interested in doing PVE myself. I'm 47 and my reflexes just aren't that sharp anymore. Most of my single toons over the years were melee and I knew about healing agro, but I didn't realize how bad it was. My mid 50's Druid healer / 4 hunter team suffers badly in an instance from healing agro.

I was doing a Pally/4 Shaman group and I got them up to about level 26, but elemental just didn't seem to cut it for me. Just not very powerful at lower levels. I know Shaman melee really takes off around level 30. I was thinking about doing Enhancement up to some higher levels since most lower level stuff is fine with melee only.

Since I was a little bored I started a new Warrior / 4 priest group that I really like now, but was thinking about swapping in the pally for the warrior when I got them to the same level. Power Word: Shield is just awesome along with some HoTs. My basic plan was to do Shadow Priests with Vampiric Touch at later levels, but I'm not sure if it would be enough healing in Outlands Instance boss fight. The pally can just hold so much agro over a warrior with consecration and four healing totems practically do it all for now, but again, what about healing in later instances. Don't know. Seems like the idea of just mowing the mobs down faster with more dps makes more sense than trying to heal through longer fights with four dps.

Decisions, decisions... Keeps me going on trying new stuff, but the five shaman team just sounds good. I like variety, but a single class over multiple classes would be easier for me to control in the long run. Plus, Shamans are one of the most enjoyable classes I've played to 70.

Thanks again for the great write-up.

For mostly PVE purposes, I would suggest the pally/4 shaman setup. Elemental gets better, and with 4 shammies, you can PVP on the side if you wanted to. Just stick it out with 1 group.

Some instances have 4 and 5 mob pulls (BRD). Just wondering how Shamans are supposed to handle that many mobs.
Stoneclaw totems for a temporary respite.

Slave Pens has a few 6-pulls of those crabs. 1 goes down before they get to you, 1 goes down almost right after they get to you, they get distracted by stoneclaws for about 5 seconds, 1 more goes down, then you have 3 to deal with. A few heals + Chain Lightnings later and its over.
