Default Yo, Need a recommendation 4ele + pally or 5 shamans leveling 60-70 and first 70 grinds

I got in multi boxing just a few weeks ago, but I've liked the idea so far. I've created core of my team as 4 shamans, and now I'm boosting them with lvl 70 mage.
They are lvl 55-58 atm, my plan was going with 5 shamans, I'm doing software broadcasting and not too concerned about ban hama. My initial plan was getting 4 shamans to lvl 60-61 on mage shoulders ( doing LBRS or smth) and after either boost them in SP or just get 5th shaman, with buying boost for him for lvl 58. Tho what I'm afraid how 5 shamans with not best gear will perform in 60-61 dungeons, is it better to get 5th player as pala and get changed to 5 shamans latter? Not sure what's the right course of actions, so any recommendation would be much appreciated.
My endgame plan is to be able to run some heroics, and have some decent clear speed.
    Thanks in advance)

Paladin+ 4 Shaman is much better for leveling & for at least initial heroics. Even when I had 5 shaman with max BiS (Dungeon/AH/badge/reputation) gear+gems+enchants I still preferred my Paladin as the Tank as it just made things more forgiving & I liked the playstyle more. Once your team is geared and things are pretty easy with a Paladin Tank it is likely a good idea to still get a 5th Shaman to see if you prefer it but a good number of folk who have tried it don't prefer it (but many also do prefer it so I would try it if you haven't).

As for the 4 Shaman I preferred to play one as deep Resto with some Elemental and the rest deep Elemental with some Resto (at least until clears are easy & then I often all 4 went deep Elemental with some Resto).

Thanks a lot for info, I was planning on having 4 ele shamans only due to totem of wrath, cause In my world it should provide enough crit for CL to clear mobs, and when it comes to paladin, I'm not sure how good pala with no gear will manage agro with shamans in group. Have you done some non heroic dungs to compare time waste of playing p+4shamans and having only 5 shamans? My end goals is to clear high lvl dungeons fast.

Can you share any specs? if there are anything special and not just regular meta heal and meta ele builds.

Yes that is the whole point. You ideally level as a team of Prot Paladin+4 Shaman from 60-70 but if not then you get a base set of gear from the AH with the appropriate stats at whatever level you are and if needed start with the lower level non-heroics until you get increasingly better gear then go into the Heroics and get pre-Raid Best in Slot (BiS) gear.

For both the Paladin & the Shaman you gear them first with gear from regular dungeons, Auction House, reputations, badges, & Quests and then start focusing on Heroics. Basically follow the pre-raid Best-in-Slot (BiS) gearing guides (ideally including close alternates) for each class as your targets.

This guide may help you plan out which dungeons to do in which order to max out reps to get to 70:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=158440792

The TBC_Leveling tab in particular gives you some info on the order & quantity of runs of dungeons on the TBC_Leveling tab to pursue.

The following "Prot_Paladin_preR_BiS" tab gives an example of how well you should be able to gear your Paladin from everything except Raids (you can also include some BoE raid items that are typically available on the AH):

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=570079838

If you don't have a particular BiS item just use the Seventy Upgrades link to get the best readily available option with as similar stats as you can until you can upgrade it...

I included my recommended specs for Paladin on the above tab. For the Shaman just the regular leveling & at spec guides should be sufficient although I personally would try to fit in things that take less attention (like for example the auto-proc healing & threat reduction for Resto that happens when reduced below 30%)... I would start with the ones from WoWhead:

For example for your healer Shaman the following is the list they have:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/class...an/restoration

From that list, without going into Raids, your gearing could focus on this preRaid BiS:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/shama...de-classic-wow

Consult for your phase any new BoE gear you can get from the AH or badge gear not updated in the above guide for example:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/shama...urning-crusade

Similarly, for your Elemental Shaman, a good list of guides is here:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/classes/shaman/elemental

From that list, without going into Raids, your gearing could focus on this preRaid BiS:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/eleme...de-classic-wow

For any portions not updated check your phase for example:

    https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/eleme...urning-crusade

Thanks a lot for all the info man,

Small update to any one who is thinking should it be 5 shams or 4shams + pally.
Background, I got trapped with 5sh as only team to play cause I've fucked up. I manually leveled up 4 shamans with my mage up to lvl 65 ( I'm quite good mage with ability to run SP 100+) any way, it took me like 2-3 weeks playing for 3-4 hours a day. My initial plan was to lvl up 4 toons and boost a 5th toon thus I'm not wasting too much money on it(and not getting ban).

I was thinking what 5th toon I should go with Pally or shamy (keep in mind I was consider boosting it, cause I already had 4 shamans at lvl 65 waiting to start dungeon rolling). And that's where shit started hitting fan, I realized I can't boost paly cause only playable race for paly is blood elf and blood elfs are not boost eligible. Thus I was stuck with only team 5 shamans (I was not positive to run War+4 shamans)

Long story short always go for 4sh+1p.

Long story: 5 shamans was quite hard road to be honest, leveling is ugh, and frankly speaking I consider my self quite skilled player, tho any pack in dungeon with more than 2 melee with total of 5 mobs always guarantee you either full dying or loosing a few shamans to that pack, and you need elementals for bosses thus you cant use them on trash. I'm not saying it's not possible, but from exp standpoint I was doing mana-tomb with 5 shamans at lvl 65 ( kinda okay geared with 400sp each) in around 36-40 minutes ( with flawless execution of every pull and without any room for mistakes).

After Blizzard announced fresh servers for WOTLK I've stopped gearing shamans, cause I know I'll go for a fresh and main idea behind shamans was getting ability to create a DK.
Thus I had some time to test stuff, I've moved to private server and was testing teams for WOTLK, and started leveling 4sh+p just to get to DK's and check would 4DK + P good option or not, what I can say 4shamans and pally is so much better in terms of mistake forgiveness, you can pull secondary pack and don't die insta. Clear speed is not that bad compared to 5 shamans, so I would say it's definitely a non brainier, at least from not BIS-min/maxing standpoint.
PS: any one tried WOTLK team with 5 dif classes ?

Agree with most all of the above.

Once my 4 shaman were max geared in Best in Slot Pre-Raid (BISpreR) gear (which only got better and better as the TBC phases progressed) I did like having a 5shaman team option to swap my Paladin out... Once your full Pa4S team is maxed in BISpreR gear swapping out a BISpreR Paladin Tank for a 5 BISpreR Shaman will result in faster clear times for some content... In my case swapping out my Paladin for a 5th Shaman was actually slower but that was in large part because my Paladin was typically in BiS full/max actual RAID gear as my Paladin was my Raiding Main.... For me swapping out a full raid gear AoE Paladin Tank for a BISpreR geared 5th Shaman was a net loss but I still did some times because I would have my Paladin staged for raids/buffs/etc and/or was in PVP spec/gear from time to time and it was just easier to use a 5th Shaman when I really wanted speed and didn't want to touch my Paladin...

I answered your WotLK 5box team combo options/experiences here:

For Wotlk the absolut best setup for heroic dungeons is 1 DK + 4 Retribution.
Downside is that you have to deal with IWT and Healprocs of Retribution Palas.
Maybe this setup is a little to difficult if you are just starting with boxing

Don't know if this setup is still doable with the ban of key-broadcasting

Retri off-heal is amazing and with 2 pieces of T10 (divine storm reset) the team becomes unstoppable
Lot of buffs from Retri and DK

I would really like to see this be done efficiently in a compliant manner considering the changes...

Likely a 5 keystick setup would be the best chance at being optimal while being compliant.
