I see forums are deadish - so is there a way to mulitbox legit or not ? If so, what are people doing/using ?
I took a break and built a $nearly $5k PC for multiboxing Shadowlands. Stopped playing last 6 months before end of the expansion and then I learned mulitboxing is a no go, well it is but not with software... So when Shadowlands launched I did not play and got refunded on all my 5 accounts.
I want to have a play at the expansion but not with x1 - been boxing since BC.
How are people boxing now ? if anyone is at all ?
There are 2 main types of boxing for WoW currently:
-Software based boxing with no input broadcasting: Using software like the free Wow Open Box (WowOpenBox.org) or JMB (https://joemultiboxer.com) or just mouse-over-focus boxing leveraging various utilities.
-Hardware based boxing with input broadcasting: Using a Synchronous Keyboard Mouse (KM) switch to leverage hardware to send inputs to multiple WoW clients. Those WoW clients can be running:- on Multiseat Desktops (MDs) all on a single PC via a MD tool like Aster (least expensive option);
- in Virtual Machines (VMs) all on a single PC via a tool like Virtualbox or VMware (next least expensive option);
- on dedicated PCs for each client (most expensive option but considered by some to be best);
