I wish I had the spare cash laying around to run 5 accounts and piece together another comp to compliment them. But I always make the best of what i got.
So got my 3-boxing groove goin. (i had a dream last night that a was being eaten by macros...)
3 Ele shammys is a wonderful thing. And I've found that doing quests with them that are 5 or so lvls higher than them is as easy as doing quests your own lvl solo. But instances are a big let down it seems. I can blast a few elites down with my shammys but eventually they all die and its sad. =(
Having no tank is the biggest weakness of tri-boxing shammys in instances. I could just try looking for a tank everytime i wanted to do an instance but I'm positive a tri-boxer with the right skillz and know-how can solo instances. (me and a buddy of mine ran WC at lvls 24 and 22 and cleared it. he was a ret pally, me a prot pally. and if we could do that then I know I can tri-box a instance!)
So now I'm determined and hellbent on refining a setup that will allow me to blast through instances like a 5boxer! (well maybe not as easily, but to clear any dungeon with 3 ppl is an acheivement worth noting in my book)
So after doing some thinking I've come up with 2 class setups I'm gonna try. First is classic and great by all means, 1xPriest 2xLock. Using this I should be able to play my healer as main and run the locks as dps slaves. And with some careful planning and finesse use the locks' demons to tank. I know tanking with lock pets is hard, but with two of them trading aggro and carefully monitoring threat lvls I think I can manage it easily enough.
Second, I thought of 1xHoly Pally, 2xLock. The holy pally can heal effectively and i have a holy pally build that I've used beofre that allowed very decent off-tanking. With the locks DoTing things to hell, the pets controlling majority of aggro and the holy pally healing and cleaning up stray aggro, I think this could work as well.
I know these might not be the easiest to pull off in an instance where you have elites the same lvl as your boxers. But Easy is for Night Elf Huntards. Not a hardcore hordie like myself. =) (no offense intended to the ally lovers of the forum. or the hunter lovers for that matter. dont get me started about the issue tho, u wont like me afterwards lol)
I've had other tri-box ideas.
1xProt Warrior, 1x Fury Warrior, 1x Holy Priest
3xDruid (most likely feral tank, resto healer, balance dps)
3xPally (any combo of Pally is sure to please the masses)
2xMage 1xDruid
etc etc etc
All I think would be good to try at some time. But for now I gonna dabble a little in the first two I described.
So wish me luck plz. And any advice/suggestions/ridicule, is appreciated.
I'll be sure to let everyone when I reach Uldaman with my tri-boxers and clear it =) lol
