Default Strategies for tank getting MC?

I've been seeing more and more often that trash mobs are MCing my druid tank which sometime leads into wipes. Ok, well most of the time leads into wipes near wipes Can't trinket out. No dispelling. Totems don't do jack. For the most part i just try to burn down the mobs that MC first or try a CC. Timing shocks or silence don't work to well for me. I had thought of sheeping my tank but don't think it would be possible since he's in bear form but hell you shouldnt be able to MC my druid in bear form either. I could use some advice.

You will have to give examples of instances and mobs and your group composition. ZG was my first painful encounter, not MC but that froggy hex really screwed me up.

I'm not running a tank, which helps, but I had trouble in ZG too... I learned to "tap back" on my other 4 shaman, so they were no longer following my main. So if my main got hexed, they kept still and kept shooting.

Remember, you can still past targets when you're hexed, and even when you're dead for that matter.

On trash, the solution is really to kill them before they MC, or keep them CCed. There is very rarely more than one MC mob per pull, so I attack it first, HoJ stun it a couple of seconds later, then finish it off before the stun wears off.

Mobs (List will increase as i lvl)
Slave Pen: Soothsayer & another caster class (dont recall name off hand).
Sethekk halls: Time Lost controller (pretty easy to handle since there is only 1 per group pull).
Auchenai Crypts: Phantasmal Possessor (dont spawn until group pull)

    Group makup
    Druid Tank 70
    Fire Mage 70
    Elemental Shaman x2 67
    Restro Shaman 67

I know what your thinking.. why i am even doing Crypts  (lower city rep & hunter friend wants to complete). For the most part i will just burn down the class that does the MC first but, its not always that simple :S

Yeah i usually burn them down first or CC. Sometime they are undead so can't CC. Crypts added a extra challenge as they dont even spawn until i pull which makes it difficult to control aggro and find the MC class after the pull. I'm not to worried about Crypts though as i dont plan on running it unless my hunter friend asks me to again

Seems like i'm not missing any on trying to preventing the MC. Burn down first or CC.

So maybe the question would be what do you do to when your tank gets MC?

Even outside of multiboxing, when a mob gets a tank MC ability, it's usually meant as something to be avoided rather than dealt with. For example in Crypts, the Possessors have extremely low HP and take quite a long time to cast their MCs, with a very obvious 'channeling' graphic. It seems clear they're meant to be taken care of before the MC actually happens.

The controllers in Sethekk drop totems that act as the source of their MC, so you could make a macro to target the totem and frost shock to release it. Aside from that, if it's a timed MC, I just repeatedly cast chain heal on all my shammies, cross my fingers, and get ready to taunt as soon as it wears off.

funny that you mention Chain Heal. I've survived a couple tank MC by spamming chain heal.

Only soothsayers mind control in slave pens. When running the heroic version with +1000 damage mages I have seen 8000 damage (non-crtit) fireballs from my charmed mages (the charm seems to have a 2-3x damage multiplier built in). There are only three soothsayer pulls you have to pull and they are all enchanter+soothsayer+2xwarrior. The trick to killing them is killing them fast and keeping them stunned (paly stun works well). The charm is insta cast so it cannot be interrupted.

I also have a macro to auto interrupt charmed party members. Looks like this:

    cast [harm,nodead,target=party1] [harm,nodead,target=party2] [harm,nodead,target=party3] [harm,nodead,target=party4] Counterspell

As long as nobody is charmed the macro does nothing but when charmed the party member is classified as harm and the macro will fire on him/her
