    Default BFA Trinity Group Comp

    Hello Everyone,

I am currently playing around with the idea of making a Dungeon Team... raiding not likely as playing Tank/DPS and Healer seems less then ideal. I will be mostly looking to push Mythics as much as possible. I have seen some group comps around on the forum, and have been playing around at low level with the Prot Pally/3x BM Hunter/Resto Shaman.

Its worked well... that being said, I am curious as to see if anyone has had success with mixed DPS classes running Mythics. I would keep the Pally Tank, I am most comfortable with it. However for DPS would a Lock/Fire Mage/BM Hunter mix work well?

I am also thinking of keeping the Resto Shammy but could be possibly persuaded to do a Disc Priest.

    Thanks all for the input

    Happy Boxing!

I feel fairly confident in stating you absolutely can do it, but I think you'll find the performance is going to be somewhat lower than with the BM hunters. They're just the go-to DPS for now, so don't expect anything else to match them. But again, you definitely can do it to some extent. I more question the choice of Fire as the spec for the mage. I am not too familiar with how it is for BFA, but previously it required a lot more attention than the other specs. If it's different now, or or you're just fine dealing with it, then go for it. And you can always change it later if you feel like it is a hassle.

Fire Mage is a top tier spec at the moment, but I have no idea how the rotation works and it's based off of a burst window and then they do subpar dps for the rest of the fight.
For DPS it's been recommended to stack 3 of the same class as it makes it easier to handle cooldown management such as defensive abilities.

With that said. I think you should try what you envision your team to look like, what you think would be the most fun. Then tweak it from there. In this realm there hasn't been a ton of variables put forth and I'm hesitant to say my combo of Prot Pal/3xbm Hunter/Resto Shaman is the best when literally in solo ranking situation, Prot Paladin is ranked worst tank and Resto Shaman is the worst healer for Mythic+.
Prot War and Resto Druid are the current kings, I just haven't found a good way to managing their abilities.
The BM hunters also take quite a bit of pressure off of your healer with their spirit mend ability that you can throw on the tank.

So you bringing in a Lock to the mix gives the whole group a healthstone, that's a pretty beefy heal. Having the priest/mage gives the full 10% int/stamina bonus. You get a lot of value and it may be amazing. It's just an untapped area

Thank you both for the input, I decided to go with the Pally, BM Hunter x3 and Shammy. The idea of having all buffs almost covered with adding in a Priest and Mage was very tempting however, managing all the different spells, especially for the Mage was a bit much, for now hehe. I was almost tempted to go with 3 Locks but decided the Hunters probably be the easiest/manageable ones. Now to get to 120 and geared

I'll just add that unless you're an incredibly seasoned multiboxer who understands the challenges that lie with multiboxing M+ encounters while playing multiple characters, I don't think playing five different classes with five different specs is going to work out all that well, and even then it's still very likely to be lackluster compared to the "proven" team comps. On paper, sure, spreading out your classes to cover a bunch of buffs and added utility sounds great, but, in practice, it's usually just a hindrance to micromanage everything during progression fights that require all of your attention.
Do not send me a PM if what you want to talk about isn't absolutely private.

OOF. You dodged a bullet there!

Locks are no good for multiboxing M+ in BFA. Maybe Shadowlands? Anyway BM is a solid option.

To expand on why BM hunters are so good for content for multiboxing and not because we just "like" them.
They are able to do all of their abilities while moving, and even when your moving and unable to cast your pet is able to stand in bad stuff and still do damage even if your not facing the enemy.
This is compounded to a higher degree because our team is usually stacked, so for instance if there is a mechanic where one of your characters has swirly bad stuff thrown at them - your entire team needs to move to dodge it instead of just 1 character. While on a regular team, only one person is affected by having to stop and move.

A great example of this is Thrall in a Horrific Vision. He's constantly casting some type of ability. I'd say I'm moving 70%+ of the fight due to all the crap on the ground. Which ends up making the 1 tank/3 dps/1 healer sometimes a faster kill than 5 dps druids on the same fight.

BM Hunters also let you cheese some mechanics pretty well. For example, in Stratholm, the boss that mind controls a team member multiple times during a fight won't do it if there are no player characters within a certain range - send in your pets and just plink away from a distance, and the mechanic never gets triggered.
