Could I box 8 on this?

    i7-7700K 4.2GHz Kaby Lake, RX 480 8192MB GDDR5, 32gig ram

    If so what settings?

The cpu and ram you got fits a 5man ok"ish.
Get 64gb ram and it will 8man, but nothing stellar performance wise (all on lowest, lots of fps drops). But its a cheap way to test it out, by just getting more ram.

Your future goal imo is to get 64gb ram and a cpu that ideally give atleast 2 cores + 2 threads to each game. Amd 3950x would do nicely. You can keep using the 480, but its getting old now and you would see a nice fps increase by getting f.ex a amd 5700 xt with 8gb vram. The 5700 xt will do nicely up to 10 games.

Warning, do not get this fail asus card though: https://youtu.be/OJU8jKIYtS4

Ive bought and used many different cpus over the years, its only recently that ive finally found something im happy with:
    5mans: amd 3900x, 32gb ram, 6gb vram.
    10 man: amd 3960x, 64 gb ram, 8gb vram.
Ofc all slaves on settings 1 with some sliders increased. Dx11 legacy. 1080p. Fps 60 front, 25-30 back. Main game with many settings increased, tweak to your liking. Smooth gameplay.

    Thanks.

I already can 5 box on it with main window on high and the rest on the lowest.

Sigh - I don't think I want to spend more money atm just to run 3 more accounts.

Its ok. I 10 boxed for some years awhile back on a 6 core/12threads, 64gb ram, 6gb vram. I tweaked that puppy for all it was worth, never got happy with it. I was able to do raid transmog runs and such on my own, fps was okish, but as soon as i was out in the wild doing world quests / passing by major cities, it was painfull fps wise (dropped to 17-22 fps'ish on main in busy cities... fps was a bit better at nighttime).

I went ahead and tried 8 - all slaves on 1 and main on good - and it runs them all fine!

Ran around killing stuff and they stay in perfect sync when attacking and jumping.

Main window is a steady 50fps and I capped slaves at 25.

I made Kul'Tirans and I could even handle walking through Boralus.

It will play ok, but it makes a world of difference when it comes to stable high fps and smoothness overall, once you are able to assign 2 cores and 2 threads to each game + leave 2 cores and 2 threads unassigned (for the OS). So thats what you want to aim for, in future new builds.
