Default ilvl to mythic dungeon comparison

My characters are at 425-435, with my tank and healer unfortunately being the lower ilvl of my group. Trying to get a gauge of what ilvl people are compared to the ilvl of items that drop in the instance they're doing. I'm finding if I'm not at the same ilvl or higher, I have a hard time, which kind of defeats the point of doing the dungeon since upgrades are minimal.

Also, what are some of the easier mythics I should maybe focus on as low hanging fruit? I assume the dungeon list of difficulty posted online doesn't really apply as much to us as it does solo players.

Last week I entered mythic dungeons for the first time. I did alright. I went through Freehold without too many issues, and same with Waycrest Manor. I entered Atal'Dazar but got stumped by the priest, got frustrated and left. I struggled my way through Shrine, got 3 bosses after a lot of effort. I think I spent 4k on repairs. By the time I got to the last boss of Shrine, I gave it a couple attempts, quickly realized it probably wasn't going to happen. I didn't attempt any M+. I had Freehold, Shrine, Mechagon, and Waycrestx2. I should have gone back and tried Freehold + 2 but I ran out of time for the week.

My two big issues I've identified are that my tank, healer, and 1 dps have outdated (380 ilvl) weapons. In general my tank is probably too squishy. I also need to improve my setup and strategy/approaches to issues in general but it's been an iterative process and will continue to improve with time. Shrine was actually a great learning experience last night. I don't intimately know these fights like I probably would if I had been playing all expansion.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself at all. What is your team comp by the way?
I tried to run an All Melee team that was ilvl 415~ avg through a mythic and it was brutal due to some of the mechanics.

Make sure you are upgrading your cloak/doing the assault objectives for the 445 pieces as well as the emissaries when they come up. There's also gotta be an easier way to get a higher ilvl weapon I'm just not sure which route it would be.

Atal is definitely a harder dungeon for mechanics on it. The green goopy guy is also going to be a pain, even the dinosaur and the last boss can be trouble.

Freehold and Waycrest are our best choices.
Then you have Tol Dagor / Motherload / Temple of Sethraliss
Once you get the hang of it Mechagon is a lovely place.
The remaining ranking from best to worst would be : King's Rest/ Underrot - Shrine (kind of tied) / and Siege being the absolute worst last boss.

They also changed Mythic + this season where you get max ilvl upgrades completing a +15, this used to be a +10 so it feels like the curve is much harder in that respect.

I'm trying not being too hard on myself. It's the ex-hardcore raider in me. I am definitely progressing slower than I thought I would but I also didn't really have a good measuring stick either. I appreciate your response a lot!

My current strategy is to figure out which mythics are do-able. Do those every week just to get better at them, and pick up whatever loot I can. Every week try to add 1 or 2 to the done pile until I have a good majority of them done, then try mythic+ when it makes sense to do so.

I'm also spamming normal heroics when I'm not progressing in mythics or doing dailies. This should also give me an opportunity to get new weapons on the three characters that need them although my luck has been very shit. I'm confident it's going to make my life a little easier when my tank isn't running around with a 370 shield. Most importantly, I'm generating a little bit of gold to cover my repair costs in mythics. Just did Atal'Dazar on heroic and I really should have known how much I was going to struggle on mythic.

I'm running hunter trinity with a prot and holy paladin. I'm considering ditching the holy paladin for one of my druids. I don't really like the changes they made to druids but I have extensive experience healing as a druid.

Thanks for the dungeon difficulty tier list, it's probably in other threads but I had trouble finding this info from searching. Before you responded I already had my sights set on Temple of Sethraliss. Once I reclear Waycrest (already did Freehold today), I'll probably go clear that one. I've done it on heroic a few times and with the exception of the worm boss I think it should be a fairly easy clear. Motherload is also on my radar. I wanted to do Tol Dagor but didn't really know where it lined up. Doubtful I get to that this week, but I may give that a try too.

Last thought: I know not many multiboxers are really doing mythics this expansion, but I'm finding the challenge a lot of fun. It would be a lot less fun if I could steamroll all this content.

I agree with your points about the difficulty completely. I ran a Mythic 11 just as my tank with some guildies a couple days ago and it was a world of difference. It wasn't "easy" but it wasn't anywhere close to what I'm used to. So the challenge is definitely there.
I noticed on my Prot Paladin when first starting on this comp that I was getting wrecked (by the ability specifically called wreck) in Mechagon on the 4th boss and chalked it up to my ilvl at the time and it was very true, now that ability doesn't hurt the same way it did until I hit Mythic 10+.

I'm hoping by posting more videos of each of the dungeon clears it will inspire more to start trying this type of content as its a ton of fun and I want others to theorycraft and make huge gains.

The druid should be a strong healer and if you find a way to make it work well I'm interested in hearing your setup as I sometimes question how effective my Shaman is as bringing the team back up from damage.

you get an item 440 weapon from getting 500 conquest points. do the 3 zone call to arms and some BGs and you can get a 440 weapon ( if you use shields it could give a shield )

Also, as your item level increases, one of the emissary quests give a weapon and it can be 445 ( i have these on my main team ). I have only seen the weapon emissary quest reward a few times though.. but i check everyday and make sure i do it on all my teams.. even though the item level of the weapon is based on your current item level. For example.. last time it was available, i got 430s on some of my teams and my main team got 445s

A weapon emissary happened today. I got 445 weapons on all my characters. Tank still has a shit shield, but all my characters are around 440, with the exception of my tank at 435.

I also did 4 mythics (added Sethraliss and MOTHERLODE to my completed dungeons this week) and finished the quest, got a 460 item on all characters which was a nice little boost.

Honestly just hearing about other people doing content gets me excited to do it. Definitely looking forward to Shadowlands. Hoping they continue the trend they created this expansion so I can actually progress without all the crazy catch up mechanics they have. PvP has been a bust but I'll be looking to level a few melee comp teams for SL and running 2/3s melee cleaves as I think it's viable at the lower levels. I entered a few arenas with 2 hunters and it was fine but ultimately I knew I'd have more fun if I did it with a melee cleave. Feral druids aren't really that strong right now in PvP.

The dungeons I'd rank from easiest to hardest, back when I was doing them:

    1. Waycrest Manor - off sanguine and quaking weeks this has to be the easiest of the bunch. The boss mechanics are all easy to do multiboxing and the trash isn't obscene. Could be tougher on sanguine and quaking weeks as much of the fighting happens in tight corridors.
    2. Temple of Sethraliss - this one is also very easy for me. For much the same reasons. The boss mechanics are manageable and the trash not too bad. It is longer than WM though.
    3. Freehold - Some of the trash here starts to get annoying. Lots of grips and knockbacks and knockdowns to be aware of. Bosses are easy.
    4. Motherlode - Lots of annoying trash you need to contend with and somewhat long but the bosses are all manageable.
    5. Tol Dagor - manageable trash. Not terrible. Some bosses are challenging. Last boss can be if you are learning the encounter.

Past this point it becomes a lot more dicey.

    6. Atal'Dazar - super annoying trash and boss mechanics go up a notch or two. Vol'kaal will ruin turret comps (DPS that can't DPS and move) and Yazma will make your life hell on movement as well.
    7. Shrine of the Storm - super annoying trash and difficult boss mechanics on the 2nd half of the dungeon.
    8. Siege of Boralus - last boss fight is just odd to me and incredibly difficult.
    9. Underrot - reasonable trash, impossible boss mechanics. Especially 2nd boss.
    10. King's Rest - just a garbage dungeon through and through. Crazy trash and bosses are tough.

Mechagon is somewhere between 7 and 9 for me.

I've done 5 mythic dungeons at this point and all my characters are around 440-445. The 5 I've done, in order of difficulty from easiest to hardest:

MOTHERLODE - This was stupid easy. I think I only wiped on one boss and did 0 looking at abilities prior to attempts, just did it live. There's a bit of luck involved on the first boss with bomb placement, but I just use my speed boost to grab them.

Freehold - I hate the trash to the first boss, and the first boss is probably the hardest from a mechanics standpoint, but is otherwise really easy.

Tol Dagor - Nothing really stood out as difficult or easy. Last boss was a challenge, I kind of just zergged the mechanics which will hurt me in the long run I'm sure.

Waycrest - I'd consider this slightly higher in difficulty. It's not difficult but some of the bosses are kind of annoying and the mechanics become a bit of an execute.

Temple of Sethraliss - Probably tied with Waycrest. There are some really easy bosses, there are others that require a little bit of execution, but overall not super difficult. The event prior to the last boss is really annoying. I have 2 keys for this, this week. I don't think I'll have time tonight but I'd like to make an attempt at the +2. I feel like I'll probably miss the timers just because I've only seen the mythic mechanics once thus far.

I did clear 3/4 out of Shrine. Each fight (aside from the first) was pretty difficult and required good execution and an understanding of mechanics. A far cry from impossible. I didn't spend much time on the last boss but I know it's going to take an hour or two of wipes to finally get it. I did have to spend an hour on each of the 2nd and 3rd bosses.

Lyonheart - I thought I saw you saying in another thread you're 440ish, if that's the case, you'll probably mudstomp at least one or two of the above dungeons.
