Default Need help on what spec for 4x HUnters

I know the obvious is 4x BM spec. ANd I luv the 4x ferocious inspirations. and the beast within talent.

However I was thinking 2 BM spec and 1x MArk 1x Survival. MArk will give my group the extra Attack power w/ Trueshot aura and Survival will give me the chance to expose armor which increases all damage against that target. plus I get all the extra goodies like aimed shot / scattered shot. silence shot etc.. Any advice would be great

    Try it and find out.

What's the worst that could happen? It doesn't work out and you respec to BM?

just for the arena part of the game, if u play hunters, isnt it Really hard if u get a mele team? I remember my left in the old days when i was playing hunter but solo,i can imagine how hard it will be with a box crew. Anyway gl =) Go with one markmanship imo, for the Ap+ bonus =)

Thanks for input guys & Gals. I was hoping to get that 1 or 2 player who has a set of high lvl hunters to share some of their exp. w/ 4x hunters.

To get TSA you lose FI, so to gain 125 AP for your group you lose 3% total damage for your group (okay, a little less since it takes a few secs to get FI up x4). 125 AP is about 9 dps. So if your group dps is above 300 then FI > TSA... I don't think TSA is worth it unless you really need the utility of Silencing Shot further down the talent tree. EW might be worth it if you have the right gear. Personally I like the look and easy play style of 4 BM hunters, and it is just icing that I don't lose anything to do it.

Hunter's Mark is the most important skill IMO for a hunter team -- and that is trained. Four hunters with a fast bow, IAOTH and Serpent's Swiftness increases the AP bonus against a marked target extremely fast. And Improved Hunter's Mark is a must-have, it only takes 10 pts in MM and only 1 of your hunters needs it.

I have 2 high level hunters. IMO expose weakness is a raider talent. It's nice to have in 5-mans, but most of the rest of the talents to get there are pretty situational for a variety of combat situations. If you are treating your hunter like a portable cannon then I doubt that you will be using them. MM is a good spec, and is simply a direct DPS comparison with BM, but I don't think that the prior analysis is correct (regarding TSA vs. FI) because you get a lot more DPS out of MM than just TSA. If it were me I'd try 1 MM and 3 BM. You might also try getting imp hunter's mark with your MM hunter to increase pet DPS, but I'm not convinced that is really worth it over efficiency. Efficiency is for long boss fights, and if you're not running out of mana then you don't need it.

If you post your specs I'll give an opinion on them.

i think what he means with the TSA vs FI was simply comparing the group contribution of both specs.

I.e. the group contribution of BM is each hunter stacks a FI, (for a total of 12% dmg) whereas a single MM hunter will give an extra TSA instead of a FI

(so you get 9% from FI, and whatever AP from TSA)

Not really sure which of the 2 specs offers more dps... since i don't have a high level hunter.

    Good questions though.

I have another (related) question as far as focus-boosting talents for a BM spec. Do you want as much focus from talents as possible? (i.e. 2/2 bestial discipline and 2/2 go for the throat) or is that overkill?

i think just spec all same imo. my bro does 2x hunters and 1>60 he didnt really get chance to use any skills apart from aimed shot and arcane shot because he killed them too fast... with 4x hunters you will most likely get 1 hit killes all way to 60 if u spec marksmanship and have half decent gun/bow.

BM is the safe option, you know when u go into a fight nothing is going to go wrong, 1 bm pet is enough to tank 3 mobs 3 levels higher than u so 4x would be fun :P lol

survival when u hit 70? that is when survival really shines imo...

    my opinion anyways ^^
