Talking Finally hit 60 - Spec help [DMMLPr]

After all the frustration I pushed through and hit 60 on my five man. Druid tank, M, M, Lock, Priest.

Primarily running strat live and hopefully some others.

Was thinking the spec for the mages should be

    https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-c...05500031230301

    And warlock

    https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-c...50005122025131

    Priest

    https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-c...15051030302152

The idea would be to PoM>FS>BW while the warlock hellfires with a few points spread around to damage bosses. the priest prayers or single targets. Not sure if this is the best route and would love some advice.

Have you found the Druid to be a good Dungeon Tank ?

Curious in particular how strong their single target Threat and AoE Threat seems to you as well as their general survivability.

I will be going for arcane power with same team comp as you have. mainly bcoz they are troll mages and abuse arcane power 3minCD while beserking is up.

    I run W/M/M/L/S
    lev 46 now

I can't decide either which build I want to run.
With lev 60 after farming some gear, my main focus will be DM East Jump Runs I think.

For my warlock I have 4 different lev60 builds prepared:

    30/ 21
Demonic Sacrifice, Master Demonologist 5/5, Ruin
max threat reduced with imp, or max reduced damage with void
    https://classicdb.ch/?talent#IZfxhuMxoxZtx0xr0z

    28/23
Demonic Sacrifice, Master Demonologist 3/5, Ruin, Pyroclasm (26% aoe stun)
threat reduced with imp and aoe stun
    https://classicdb.ch/?talent#IZfxhuMxohZtx0xrMz

    21/30
    Demonic Sacrifice, Ruin, Pyroclasm, Emberstorm
max aoe damage with sacrificed imp
    https://classicdb.ch/?talent#IZfx0uT0oZex0xrMzx

    2/11/38
    full fire

For my Warlocks I plan to initially start with 0/31/20 with something like: https://classicdb.ch/?talent#IZcxhzgxotZxV0tr or https://classicdb.ch/?talent#IZcxhzgxotZxx0tr

My thought process is that I want to start with my Warlocks being as survivable as possible and focusing on HellFire overall (with the pet absorbing 30% of the HellFire damage).

I want to do some testing with the -20% aggro from an Imp though I am not sure that even with Fel Stamina (+15% imp health), improved Fort (+30%), improved blood pact (+30%), & Kings (+10%) if the imp will be survivable enough to be able to take 30% of the incoming damage. If not then I plan to switch to a Voidwalker and trade the -20% threat for -10% physical damage reduction (so total -40% physical damage & -30% all other damage).

If I find that my Warlocks are over-tanky and lacking DPS then I likely will look at specing away from 0/31/20 but I want to at least start with that -30% over all damage reduction (and either the -20% threat or -10% physical damage)...

    which setup are you running?
    Paladin, Priest, Warlock, ?, ?

I didnt consider Soul Link, maybe a good solution if I try to go only for aoe pulls, but with a warrior tank its more difficult then with a paladin.

My goal is an easy farming team with good AoE damage with good survivability and aggro control such that I don't have to pay that close of attention (once something is "on farm" I am often working on other things while grinding and don't want to have to react too quickly with twitch type reflexes).

I currently have 2 60 Paladins and a 60 Mage and am leveling up Druid+3Warlocks+Priest. Once the party gets into the mid-50s I plan to swap out the Druid for a 60 Paladin and make the Druid a 59 Twink.

I plan to run the Warlock build above at least initially and thoroughly try both of the following configurations:
    PaladinTank+3Warlocks+3Pets+Priest
    PaladinTank+3Warlocks+3Pets+PaladinHealer

I am hoping to have a static -50% Threat & -30% incoming damage on the Warlocks and see how I like things from there. If the maxed Imps are unreliable I will move to -30% Threat -40% Physical damage -30% all other damage and try from there... If I later find things too easy I will consider dropping soul-link but I want to at least start with it...

Hello everyone, thank you for the informative replies. Haven't had much time to post only lurk lately - but my team is going great.

I am going to switch to SL on the warlock for more survivability/threat reduction, right now hellfire pulls way too much aggro so I've been using RoF.

both mages are currently frost one shatter one AP/PoM. Mainly went frost at the start assuming I'd be doing a lot of LBRS/UBRS/BRD so that would help with all the fire resistance. Can clear strat live but it takes me about an hour and a half. I think is directly correlated to not being blastwave/fire spec, however I am working on getting a lot of +crit gear and almost have a decent set. I think once I switch over it'll go a lot faster.

Druid seems to be great with threat - it was a little difficult at first but now that I'm in primarily preBiS/some BiS I just have to make sure 2-3 swipes hit every mob and I can top myself off and AoE without any issues. If I hold out a little longer the tank can hold threat through flamestrike/rain of fire/AE spam.

If anyone happens to be reading this and is struggling a little bit, focus on gearing your tank, then healer, then DPS.

Once the tank gets some gear and the priest can pump out heals DPS becomes a speed thing instead of an "will I kill it?" scenario.
