    Default Horrific Visions?

( this the right place for this topic? )

I wanted to start a discussion about horrific visions. What comps are you using? How difficulty are they for you?

So this expansion i have stuck with my 5 prot paladins(415IL ). I'm not sure if anyone got very far in dungons with this set up, but I cant get them to do enough DPS when time matters. Like killing Thrall in my first Horrific Vision. They have great survivability, obviously, but even though i topped of my sanity before i engaged Thrall, they all died ( at full health ) when sanity maxed out lol. Ill be trying 5 hunters ( just at 400IL). I still need to get cloaks for my druids and DHs and one monk.

I haven't tried ret yet. i don't have the gear for it. But man.. the hunters seem to have crazy dps for their item level..and its pretty easy dps to manage. Not sure what comp ill go with, i don't have the time to do HVs with several teams and all the dailies, assaults needed to buy the vials for them. So i want to eventually stick with one team for HVs and dungons. Yes, that means giving up my 5 prot pals ..they were so great in last expansion!

Actually this is a great discussion because with all the affix's that rotate, this is going to be a complicated dungeon, but lots of fun!

For the most part if your trying to use multiple teams I would just do the assault and skip all of the dailies. The assault has all the visions in it, were the dailies while they do add up are very time consuming. You can hypothetically knock out each assault in 15-20 min, and it would be 2x on Server reset and then 1x more on Friday to the weekend. So An hour a week for each team?

These dungeons do seem to be tuned for higher ilvl, considering just beating the last boss for the first time awards a 420 piece. Then if you do boss + 2 side items it's a 430 piece. So you'll want overall a decent set, but!! next week starts the new season and while the dungeons are harder all of the Mythic 0 will be baseline ilvl 430. So getting your team up shouldn't be too hard.

    Onto the comps.

I've tried a main trinity Tank/3x Hunter/Healer, in my case Prot Paladin/Resto shaman and it went fine for DPS. The first 2 runs I did just Thrall, and the third run I tried out one side item and then did Thrall. It felt ok. My ilvl is 430~ across the team and I'm pretty sure I couldn't have done an additional at this time. I did take it slow and easy though and it looks like you'll need to pull multiple packs at the same time to be efficient so AoE is going to be important.

The affix's are brutal for our layout so far that I've experienced so some tactics are going to need to be developed.

I'm currently going to try out a 5x Druid combo inside and I think this team might be quite strong. It has stealth and that enables quite a bit of progression.

What i meant by not having time to do everything on all teams is i am playing other games as well.. so my wow time is limited. So i want to find a comp that is easiest to do the visions on..and just stick with that..as well as some dungons. For healers at 120 i have a paly..druid and monk so far. I could boost a shamy if needed. one of my prot pals will be the tank. So Prot Pal tank..3 hunters and ? healer hehe.

I died on my 5 hunters before i got to thrall..mostly from not spreading out and getting the whole team one shotted by some aoe. I went back in solo with each hunter and it was very easy.

Ahh. You know.. all of those healers seem really strong. I'm not sure why I like the Resto Shaman so much - it just fits for me but that comp will be solid.

Gonna try the Druids today and report back.

Appreciate it It's good memories and I miss it too.

I just did the first vision to Thrall, went ok - the movement makes DPS suffer quite a bit for Balance Druids.
Second vision I also did the Valley of the Spirits and it went decently quick but again the movement was brutal.
Still unsure which team is overall stronger for these. The good news is you only get limited tries so I'll just end up doing both each week.

i found it easiest to play with three, got a couple keybind that allow me to spread two of them, then i move with the "main" freely. So we end up like a triangle shape. You have to spread them, or else the big circle aoe that appear around each character will remove the sanity and health extremely fast. i did this around 370 ilvl++ and it was pretty smooth sailing to the boss. Trashmobs "barely" did a dent, if i avoided the mechanincs. 1 healer/dps + 2 dps, was what i used. Just walked along the leftmost side in orgrimar, took out those few mobs and then the two bigger guards by the door leading in to the bossroom.

i just did it solo on all my toons ( paladins and hunters) it only took about an hour to do all 10. But 3 sounds better.. im just afraid to try anymore than solo now because of losing that chance at an upgrade. I just reformed my 5 man into prot paly, holy paly+3 hunters for now..im thinking of boosting a resto sham and gearing him up for 5mans..well see.

Sweet spot seems to be 2-3 for me and I have been anticipating Torgahst in shadowlands will be much the same.

So I went and tried one of the Lost zones to give it a shot and the affix causing a disorient is insane. There's not a good way to play around it, your team is just in constant flux of being disoriented. So I pulled out and finished Thrall to get the upgrade but that one is gonna be rough.

This also seems to favor going with less, with memento upgrades such as doing 15% more damage while solo compared to 3% more while in a full group.
