Default A heart breaking is just like a my five box being reduced to a ...

Well i was jazzed to do this five box thing. I have three accounts and a couple free months on my main account. I can pick up two more. My problem is several fold. :cursing:

    1. i have a mac (not just mac but imac so not adjustable).
    2. specs for it are: 2.16 intel core duo, 2 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram, with graphics of ATY,RadeonX1600 with VRAM (Total):256 MB.
    3. as a function of #1 i only have one monitor and this one computer to work with (truth is i also have a 5 year old pc as well :whistling: )

I have already tasted the stinging truth that i can't box five accounts well with this hardware. ;( Correct me if i am wrong... please

So can i only box two or can i box three with this? Any tips? If i box two then they are Grymdotz and Dotzjak for sure, my main is Grymjak. If i can box three i am wondering if i should box three locks or if i should go with two locks and a priest? If i only have three then as for instances i am going to need a healer and a tank anyway... but even for solo content... is it more fun and "full of awesome" to have the priest or an extra doomsday bard as a lock?

woot woot to all of you...

    P.S.
If i can only go with three then feel free to say... actually try out shaman (don't want to do mage) or moonkin or hunter or something. So i guess i am also wondering what a great 3x dps is if i got that route and don't take mage. ??

Consider a quad-core processor along with this and you should be all set. Of course, that depends on what OS you are going to run on it. Vista will experience some slow down running two or more clients with only a dual core processor. I know, I tried.

Does this mean if i had a quad core and vista you think a five client deal with wow would work... or do i need to run something other than vista?

I run my 4 clones on a 24" (7600gt) iMac 2.16 coreduo system booted into XP via bootcamp. Works well for the clones, but might be tough to come up with a maximizer setup you like for running a main at the same time. Before I started 5boxing I was running 3 accounts under OS X 10.5 using Spaces and CloneKeys. It worked well for 2 but my framerate wasn't really great after I added the 3rd.

Not really a solution to your problems, but maybe some food for thought.

If you upgrade it up to 4gb and set the framerate of the background windows low (5-10 fps) its doable but you won't want to enter shat with them all.

But yeah, you'll need something a bit more upgradeable to run 5 on the same machine. I'm considering a powermac just for this purpose as my poor imac is about to have a meltdown. If you are able to the suggestion for a windows box is a good one as well. I hear they run Excel really good too for those days you want to add some numbers together

I run 5 clones on a Q6600 with 3 gig on XP pro, using Keyclone I set the background fps to 15, then manually set the processor affinity for each session using Task Manager to use cpu 0 through to 3, this way I never get cpu spikes above 35% - so yeah Q6600 is great for 5 boxing

As far as Vista goes, only use it if you intend to use multiple monitors. And if you're going to 5box off of a single machine, I'd suggest a killer graphics card and the full 3 GB of ram (more if you're going with a 64bit system). Also consider every other slowdown that could happen to a heavily-taxed system (i.e. loading many WoW isntances off of a single installation, etc.).
