    Default Internet speed question

    Hi,

What internet speed i need to multiboxing on 10acc?
Im asking because sometimes on my 5 acc i get crashes and its seems to me it's an internet problem because i have a good PC.
    i currently have 12Mb download.

Use something like speedtest.net to figure out your mbps download and upload speeds.

When i 20 boxed on my old router setup, i had a subscription which gave me 58 mbps download, 16 mbps upload and ping was 25 ms (60ish ingame).

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    i was bored:

    1. installed "NetWorx" for win 10 (bandwidth monitoring and data usage reports).

    2. Used a kb/sec to mbps converter.

    3. logged ingame, 1 account, all settings on 1 ingame... hardly no one online.. flew around.... was around 0,95 mbps. (you said your max was 12,0 mbps).

    4. changed to settings 5 ingame... went up to 1,92 mbps. (you said your max was 12,0 mbps).

i closed the game and then started a random netflix movie for the lol, full 1080p......... it alone used 5,5 mbps

Try this yourself with your pc, when its busy ingame, go do a raid etc, then you will get your numbers. Then x that with 10 for a ballpark figure.

What kind of crashes? Not all crashes are the same. What addons are you running? What are your video settings? What do you mean by "a good PC"? What else is running on your machine? What else is using your internet? Without more information, no one can say.

I have fairly terrible internet service where I am - about 10-25mb with wide variations, and 50-240ms ping. \I'm able to run 5 accounts with no problem, while someone else watches netflix. The largest number of accounts I've run with this internet has been 8, and still no problems, though no one was streaming at the time.

If I remember right, each account only uses something like 40-50kbps, though there are some other things that run with it (voice and browser proxy I think?) that use more. However, even if they went up to 1mbps per account - which would be absurd - you'd still have a little bit of overhead left over assuming you aren't doing other stuff that's eating bandwidth.

how consistent is your 12mb? Could be dropping to nothing and often and speed isnt the issue at all, speed is almost never the issue these days.

If it was your internet I would expect the games to disconnect, not crash. Crashes are more likely to be addons or other software/hardware issues. Mostly when multiboxing WoW (retail) these are related to not using DirectX11 Legacy (the other graphics API's are not as stable for multiboxing), or running out of RAM (well, more an out of memory error, which is not quite the same thing), or some other instability which is usually trackable via the game logs, windows event logs, or memory dumps that may have been taken.

Poor bandwidth will not cause crashes; just disconnects. If you have clients closing on you, it is more likely to be a system resource limitation (usually CPU or RAM). If you have a "good" system, you may have the CPU core allocations screwed up so it is trying to run too many things on too few cores. It might help to tell us what your CPU, GPU, and RAM are, and even how you have the cores allocated.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)
