Default New 5 Boxer!! Need All The Tips I Can Get!!

Hey all! I have been dual-boxing and tri-boxing for a while now and I have to admit that this forum really is what has sucked me into multi boxing. I hadn't ever planned for it to get this big for me, but alas, it has.

So for my first question I am wondering if my new iMac will be able to handle 5 WoW windows using maximizer on Windows Vista. The specs are as follows:

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 gigs of ram, ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB of GDDR3 memory

I would be running wow on the lowest settings with maximizer set with maxfpsbk:10 maxfps:40

Today I went to the store and picked up the new expansion pack bundle and got my last needed account, after setting things up, installing wow on my imac (my laptop had trouble handling 3 wow windows, let alone 5 ), getting keyclone set up, and finally patching wow, I encountered a problem.

I didnt know what classes to choose!

I had always thought that I would simply roll 5 shaman and be done with it, but now I'm not so sure. I read the guide about multi-boxing class choices and I think I fit under the PVE catagory. While I LOVE PVP I haven't ever really gotten into raiding and find the idea of soloing instances very apealing. I was thinking maybe I would go with 1 Druid/paladin (any thoughts on these two?) and then either: 1priest + 3x shaman/mage/lock or 4x shaman/mage/warlock.

ANY additional tips would be greatly appreciated! I am also really interested in how people micro-manage. So if you have time to post common actionbar set ups you use or maybe how you manage with 3 classes (I'm only used to boxing 2 different classes) then it would really help me . Thanks again!

Even though I DO hate you all and this forum for getting me sucked into this habit 8)

    Hey there addieandjack,

Sorry I don't have anything useful to add, I just wanted to voice my support as a brand new multiboxer also (literally, enabling the accounts as I write this out).

I've decided to purchase a new machine - it was about time for me to anyway, a quad-core 2.4ghzPentium x9300, with dual vid cards and dual screens. Hopefully that'll be well and truly grunty enough to run 5 wow's.

Anyway, look forward to seeing what the pros have to add by way of replies to this thread also.

if you like pve but also want to solo instance, do a 4xshaman 1x prot pally, that way for 5v5 arena you can roll like ellay, 1 healer and your 4 shaman.

Also you can just power level another shaman on the pally's account to do 5x shaman in BGs

g'morning addieandjack and welcome to the forums!

ok.. so... keyclone works on the iMac? ?(

oh.. and don't forget to 'recruit-a-friend' from your main account... that wil save you 1 months fee per new account

Keyclone doesn't work on the mac side of my imac, but it works perfectly fine on the Windows Vista side And I did do the recruit a friend thing thanks for the tips

for pve you should definitely go with a paladin tank - low maintainence as most of your agro is caused by reflective dmg , just run into the mobs and let them damage themselves on you (this is not the 'perfect' way to tank as a pally but it will suffice and let you concentrate more on the multi tasking).

4 shamans will be slightly easier in terms of only having 2 classes and higher armor, a priest and 3 casters will give you aoe and crowd control but less survivability if you aggro.

A priest and 3 locks will mean you only have to buy the priest land mounts, and unless you have 'main' to fund your multi boxing this shouldnt be sniffed at - it's expensive.

If you are rolling alliance you will be susceptible to fear with a caster group (roll undead), which isnt as big an issue as if you want to pvp but should also be taken into account.
