Old RAID Gold

Hi all,
so is there any point in running a 5 man team through older raids? It seems the only extra that we get is the gold from the boss which is the same as a single character multiplied by 5. The gear drop gets split between characters so the overall sale of dropped gear is the same.
Thoughts? I have tried Dragon Soul and it did not seem great for gold.

The reason to farm old raid is for transmog/pet/mount for yourself or to sell - use with professions like DE.
