    Default Hunter IWT melee?

    Hi,

is there any way to use IWT to get in melee range for a hunter?
Doesn't matter if a bow is equipped or not - the hunter always stops in max range distance.

So isn't it possible to spam IWT /Raptor strike?

    Thx

Nope. IWT acts differently for different classes. For hunters IWT just runs into bow range.

Maybe, try removing your bow/ammo tho? Maybe that will change it?

no it doesnt even work in retail, it's just the way hunters were coded it'll never change. Best to just set them to follow and walk them all the way in.

Why on earth do you want to bring hunters into melee, they do hot garbage figures of melee damage and the only reason you even run through someone is to try and proc on wingclip to root them and let you get to range! I currently run 4hunters /1shammy and the only time I’ve ever wanted to get close is when a hunter draws Agro, feign death fails, and I have to run him to the Pets so the other hunters can nuke down what he drew Agro on!

Ehm - pet doesn't hold aggro of a warrior/rogue/aoe-mage in pvp

5 hunter with raptor strike and (working) IWT-spam would easily kill any melee

    Thx

They still turn to attack, they just won't chase anyone.

When I was experimenting with hunters I quickly decided that they would be an awful pvp team because of deadzone. I just cant see anyone controlling all of them in the same manner that makes a single box hunter effective.

This is where you gotta rely on your big red kitties and intimidation while running the hell away! Honestly as someone boxing hunters I can’t foresee any positive outcome from attempting to pvp with them unless I’m standing in a big damn raid and hiding in numbers. The classic dead zone makes them super easy to counter regardless. Our built in disadvantages as a boxer are just magnified by it!

Hunters would actually probably be pretty brutal, if you played them a certain way, that certain way is to, basically stay out of range of everyone and everything, and use a brokentooth deathball to kill people. It would work in WPvP outside of zergs. Just don't get caught by mounted people, and if you do, make sure you can drop a mine field of snare/iceblock traps behind you lol as you skeedaddle for the hills while your cats massacre everything.

I got so bored camping BT I gave up after two, and then was when you could layer hop. I parked my hunters around the spawns and just jumped layers.
ive found the best combo of pets is actually 2 BT and a fleshripper on 3 BM hunters, and a MM hunter with wolf for true shot aura and furious howl. The screech BM with the fleshripper is Spec as MT and the two broken tooth are off tanks, I drive from the marksman hunter and heal with a shaman. For PVE that combo just afk/auto shoots it’s way through every instance so far, with only scholo creating slight problems due to deadzones with tight corners / sight lines.

For pvp if it’s a mana user attacks me he gets 4xviper stings and a 4 imp conc shot, one nearly always proc’s. If it’s a mage who blinks into me he gets a scatter shot and i use intimadation and another round of viper shots and I get to max distance at this point they are nearly always oom.

if it’s a warrior or rogue then it’s big red birds and kittie time and just hope I can outheal him before he kills one of my toons.
for a paladin I usually spam stings and hope they’re stupid enough to keep cleansing themselves.
