    Default skull level and exp

When my alt is killed after tagging a mob that looks like a skull level, can't I get full experience?
I just level up my alt to 38.
I know that it is mean that my main character can help alt (previously I only used my main character's pet. It was very fast but slowing down. I just needed 26 hours of play time)
but I'm worried that my plan is wrong.
Previously, when I experimented, my character gained only a small amount of experience from a mob at the skeleton level.

According to the 'Boosting & Power Leveling' thread, under approach 2A, the mobs need to be green to the Main helping with killing the tagged mobs which means for a level 60 main the mobs must be level 48+.

What class(es) did you boost to 38 (was it just one or 2+ alts to 38) via your Pet killing the tagged mobs ?

What pet have you been using to kill the tagged mobs (note this is approach 2B)?

As discussed at this point in the Power leveling thread, for a 5 boxer one efficient way to cap for 2 alts may be having 3 level 60 Hunters boost them via pets killing their tags (approach 2B) until the alts can effectively tag level 48+ mobs and then switch to both the hunters and pets killing the tags (approach 2A) from that point to cap. A single pet can do it very efficiently at the low to mid levels but starts to drop off as you get higher and higher (as you confirmed).

One other approach (denoted as Approach 1 in the thread) is using a single main to boost alts leveraging the average level of the party for XP calculations but this is more viable with a single main (like a Paladin or a Mage) and 4 alts... A full party of alts is best as it reduces the average level of the party (as calculated in the team level columns here).

How many total accounts do you have and what levels of classes do you have on those accounts?

Answer those questions and maybe we can help determine your most efficient options at this point...

I have two level 60 hunters and a total of 5 accounts. At first I tried to level three alts at the same time but realized that it was too slow and leveled one alt with four accounts (two 60 level hunters, alt hunters, alt for party) 2-2 method Leveled up very quickly and reached the target level for Plan 2-1. Can I now kill the mob with two main hunters? I'm worried because I had less experience when I experimented (48 mobs look like alt to the skeleton).

Do you have any other level 60s on your other 3 accounts in addition to the 2 level 60 Hunters you have on 2 of your 5 accounts?

It sounds like one level 38 alt is a Hunter, what class is the other level 38 alt?

Out of party mains can't damage/kill the tagged mobs till the mobs are level 48+ or the XP will be greatly reduced.

If your level 38 alt can effectively tag level 48+ mobs then the mains should be able to contribute to killing them though you likely would need effective ranged tagging by the alt with quick interception by the main(s)/pet(s) or your alt(s) will die a lot. I am not sure how dying may affect the XP rewarded if your mains kill a tagged mob after your death... You may need to do some testing and do some tags where you stay alive and see if the XP is higher. One option would be to have the level 60 pet(s) attack one 48 mob in a group and screech on the others and then let your alt tag them. You will lose XP on the one mob but the mobs should ignore your alt as your pet has AoE aggro and you should be able to safely tag the rest with your alt... Please report back your findings on XP awards differences between death and staying alive.

One option is to continue tagging lower level mobs with your 2 alts and then killing the mobs with both alts and the 2 Hunter's pets (only the pets) until level 48+ mobs are safer/easier to tag by your alts.

1 day played to get 2 alts to level 38 is pretty darn good so another option would be to power level 2 more alts to ~38 (so essentially 2 days played to get 4 alts to 38) and then group those 4 level 38 alts with a single level 60 main to get an effective team level of 42 and then kill appropriate level mobs with the full 5 man team as a single party (Approach 1).

Your idea is amazing. I try to use that method. Aside from this, when I hit two of my 60-level hunters to catch a 48+ mob, I noticed a drop in experience. One hunter's help doesn't seem to significantly reduce the experience, but two hunter's help makes it half. 2-a needs to be modified.

    Tmdsod,

How are things going now? Which suggestions did you try and which one(s) ended up working for you?

One day played to level 2 alts to Level 38 is amazing.

Want to see if you were to progress further and wondered what level is your alt(s) now and what is their /played?

Make sure the hunters are not grouped with your alts.

I leveled a mage via tap leveling from 44ish to 60, with 3 warriors and a priest killing everything. No loss of XP unless the mob was below 48.

you can not tag 48s on a level 38 and get full xp. the mobs have to be at least green for the booster and red for the boosted. I think it happens in the low 40s where you can start doing this. I think I was getting my friend around 200k xp an hour helping him boost his rogue while I AOED on my 5 box, he used oil of immolation and dynamite to tag, it got easier the higher he got since tagging mobs is pretty hard in low 40s and there is a limited number of spots with just level 48s.

Do low level characters ever miss with Dynamite and/or oil of immolation?
