The way I see it is it depends on the battlegroup, depends on the time of day (younger players generally earlier in the day, older players later), depends if players generally are trying to win a BG or do they want an easy WSG, AB, AV mark, PVP centric servers or PVE, etc etc... I bet if you had demographics researchers studying the WoW mechanics, a thesis could be written leading to a PHD in WoWology.
Other members here have said that bringing a large multiboxed crew into WSG is going to be difficult. Because of the type of game setup that WSG has, a larger multibox crew doesn't usually work well with taking up 30-50% of a match's slots (the servers you play with/against would help determine this). If you play as a single toon for a number of WSG matches, and the attitude appears to be from the beginning "lets just get this game over with and start a new match", then you play (I would) with a 2-5 shaman group and do what you need to do (I bet flag running isn't impossible, but it has to be difficult).
Normally a WSG flag doesn't take 4 people to defend (it can, but usually 2-3 people of the "right" classes (depends on the makeup of your team, and the team you are playing against). But it sounds like defense would be the best choice, IMHO.
One option you do have is to split your crew into 2 teams of two, or get the WSG tokens by playing each shaman individually. This probably isn't optimal, but you might find that having 40% of the WSG matches represented by your crew (I currrently play a druid and 3 shaman setup so I am not a 4 toon crew hater

) doesn't work well some of the time.
In closing, mostly because my friends birthday beers are losing their effect, you are a member of this super cool community. Any questions we have (non-troll) normally get answered within a day or two with a set of good answers and a solid rack of opinion.
Congrats on making 70 (Yes! I remembered the original point!)... and have fun no matter what! 8) '
Peace!
