High ram usage and seeking help

I am paypal ready for someone who can find a fix for my issue. I have spent 4 days trying, googling, youtube, posting on wow forums, tickets. NOTHING has even HELPED!!

I have recently returned to wow to prepare for Shadowlands. I run 2x4 farms and the last time I ran a 2x4 farm was in April. I typically have always had 10 clients running. 8 for farming and 1 running tsm sniper and 1 crafting. I have never had a problem. From the start of bfa till about december of 2018 I multiboxed 3-4 hours a day during the week and over 20 hours on the weekend with countless things going on in the background. Never an issue at all. My PC consists of the following

Asus Maximus VIII Hero rog edition
Asus Strix rog gtx1080
Intel I7-6700k liquid cooled
Corsair Vengeance 16g ddr4 ram 3000mhz

I got all my subs back for my 8 accounts, and got my Isboxer and lavish going again. launched my team and when I hit login for my teams I got kicked out and memory usage errors popping up. Each wow account is set to lowest possible graphics, dx11 legacy, triple buffering off, and I am only running on a 1080p 27inch monitor. Each client is running 3+gigs of ram each. I cant even 5 box with 16gigs of ram.

List of things already done.

Deleted wtf, cache, and interface folders so no addons.
Clean install of wow and battle.net account
many things on youtube that involved page file size, regedit, and superfetch this and that
Updated windows
Updated all drivers
Ran ccleaner
ran malwarebytes
updated everything I can think of
Clean install of windows 10

Im sure I am forgetting something here that I have done but it has been countless. 1 account at recommended settings for my pc is using almost 4 gigs of ram with NO ADDONS. I have been told that this is wow now. That wow just uses ram since the update. That there is nothing I can do aside from buy more ram. "you really need 64 gigs to run 10 clients of wow".

So I felt curious. Got my old pc out and updated wow on it. That pc consists of...

AMD 6300
Gtx 960
8 gigs of ram

Opened wow up. Logged in...... 500-900 mbs with addons. I seen a few jumps in usage to like 1200mbs when in bfa on a high pop server. So tell me the issue please. I will PAY someone that figures out my issue. Otherwise I just wasted alot of money trying to get started multiboxing again and I dont want that to go to waste. And none of the "computer repair" experts around me are worth a crap!.

If anyone can tell me how to upload dxdiag or any other information you guys may need to assist you in helping me solve this problem Please let me know and I will help anyway I can.

Things to try:

Enable default bios settings. Is it up to date?

Take out memory sticks and reseat them.
Tried check them for errors?
Try with other ram sticks?

Power supply?

Never heard of a issue with ram, showing errors, just by logging in. But then ive never had more than 5 accounts on a similar old pc with 16gb ram. Since bfa came out i had to upgrade to 32gb ram, as with all my addons and playing in hectic areas, it went over 16gb used. If i were you, i would also upgrade to the new amd 12 (or 16 core).

Bios is up to date. Updated it today, no help. Taken the sticks out, switched them around, Checked them for errors, and have not tried with other ram sticks yet. But I did buy 16 more gigs to add to these, they are just not here yet and do not want to miss the weekend of multiboxing.

Checking the power supply Im not sure how to do. I have been watching hw monitor and nothing is hitting 100% or high temps. Everything looks good except the ram usage. Even just twitch opened im using 30% of my ram.

I do not really ever want to run anything amd again. My first 2 pcs were amd and they gave me nightmares that I still suffer from with poor quality graphics, poor fps, and so much more. My cpu is great. no issues with it. And I cant see it having an impact on ram usage.

Sound to me that getting the extra memory should solve your issues then. Fingers crossed. Untill then, maybe you can "tri-box a bit."

How about your harddrive? Insufficient disk space can cause increased ram usage.

I have it on my ssd that has my OS on it as well. 88.6gs free of 230. Its a kingston hyperx ssd. Also why would I need more ram now, if in April I was able to run 10 clients of wow with no issues????


The only thing I have not tried is moving wow to my caviar black 1tb Hdd that is basically empty with like 800gigs free

Win 10 is used with notepads etc, its just a warning letting you know wow is a program that will drain the battery fast. As you use a desktop thats connected to the power outlet, you dont have to worry about these warnings.

88gb free is ok. You have enough leftover space.

Not got any more suggestions really. As your type of ram is cheap and you get memory errors, apparently it now either is faulty or you need more ram. Hopefully when you get more, it solves your issues.

Wasnt aware that it was cheap XD. Had good reviews when I built this pc. Sadly I bought the same ram to add to it. What ram would you suggest?

Yes, WoW now takes a lot of ram on initial load, and then settles down after a few minutes. We don't know why, but it was something new introduced in a recent-ish patch. Could it have been after April. No idea. Not tracked.

However, different results on different PC's is not completely unknown. Different hardware may invoke a different response from the game if there are expectations that certain settings may be used based on the hardware detection (conjecture). There may be differences in the configs for the games. There may also be different background programs, driver addons and other things loading that are all contributing.

Can you 10 box on 16GB. Probably not. The budget is generally 2GB per instance now.

Moving WoW to your HDD will not help.
Be aware that some WoW graphics settings will change due to a patch (which you no doubt received), and sometimes the Anti Aliasing settings will turn themselves on when you change other settings, so those are worth checking and double checking.

For more ram, it is better to stick with similar to what you have. They wont be a "matched" set, but if the same brand, series and MHz, the chance potential for mismatch issues are very low.
