Removing follow, had nothing to do with multiboxing.

It had to do with honor buddy, and other botting software that utilized the follow command to bot, and thereby pvp in battlegrounds, and even in world pvp.

These bots all used IWT+Click to Move+autofollow to behave as seemlessly as possible, and autofollow was absolutely necessary for effective movement in battlegrounds, and for groups of bots.

It just so happens that autofollow is also how multiboxers move, we were collateral damage.

i think that 99% of multiboxers had <50% winrate in arathi bashin at times where follow worked

i mean in wotlk i had all the bis pvp gear 3 out of 4 season and i had like 60% wlr and was only 4 boxing xD

Yah i mean more so in BFA world pvp these days. That wasn't necessary and likely targeting us. Same with Arena.

We were collateral damage in BGs, but when they disabled follow during all forms of PvP, that was a deliberate anti-boxing in pvp move.

I'm going to box world PvP, but single play BGs. It sucks for us, but at least we won't have to deal with the hate in BGs.

Unless someone on the classic dev team multiboxes, they aren't going to revert this.

I remember all the QQ from multiboxers in BGs.

When my Paladin got 1 shotted in AV by a 10boxer of Shaman such that I couldn't even bubble was the day I started taking boxing seriously...

AV battles with pugs of lots of disparate players never resulted in focused fire like the 10 boxer... Yes a boxer is maybe only 75-80% as effective as a well coordinated group of actual players, BUT, the pugs weren't coordinated and never did I get one shotted where I couldn't even try to bubble before that... At times the enemy did obviously have someone calling targets but there was always a ramp up as the incoming fire increased such that I at least had a chance to bubble. Other times is was just pure chaos and it was obvious that it was just a mob on the other side with no one calling targets which was really fun for us duo Paladins to AoE in with the Engineering shield, bombs, gadgets, consumables, and consecration...

It seemed like sometime after lots of people were talking about multiboxing in battlegrounds that multi-boxing was killed in battlegrounds... I saw a lot more boxers than I ever saw botter/bots in BGs... At the time it certainly seemed like it was at least a part of the reason they disabled follow to me...

Personally I have mixed feeling about it as I kinda would like to multibox in BGs but then again I like focusing on 1 character in BGs and that everyone else is also 1 player per character...

With that in mind I am at least OK with them not enabling boxing in BGs and may actually overall prefer they don't when I think about it from all angles. WPVP should be enough of that...

Back in the day, the worst thing i did (and i'm kinda ashamed but hey, that was fun), was a 5man box of twinks level 19. It was outragous.

Now in classic, i will not box in BG. I will maybe try dual-box eventually (with separate controls for my second char to move it).

I think peak multiboxing battlegrounds was prob during cata with frost DK's and a paladin, during the mosg framework era.

Ranged, hard hitting aoe, that dotted, and snared, + ranged interrupts, + good anti magic resist cool downs + pulls.

I was absolutely unstoppable versus all but the most try hard groups in any of the 15v15+ BGs

Paladins+DKs were the best... Ooops, I mean worst...

It was great for Paladin Mains as DKs started at 55 so you got a team real fast and with the chains and grips you could just keep, pardon the reverse pun, chain pulling & keeping a grip on people.

Also, having a two button rotation for blood dps with Obliterate and Heartstrike just smashing everyone in bg's with unholy presence gcd reduction and dancing rune weapon. Dk's were ridiculous
