    Default Boosting Issues

    Hey Folks,

Trying to get a mutliboxing team going (4 mages + 1 priest). I already have a level 60 mage that I'm trying to have boost the other three accounts. Problem is I have them all at level 10 and in deadmines and the exp I'm getting is super slow from the level 60 mage boosting.

Does it get better at all? Am I not doing it correctly (doing huge pulls), just the exp numbers are not good.

    Cheers,
    Miscued

Why not level a tank with your 3 mages and priest? That way you have some flexibility later if desired. Based on everything I've read here and the videos I've seen the mages are pretty quick at leveling without needing the boost.

From what I remember in vanilla the xp was definitely diminished in Deadmines but you should be getting good enough xp to make it worth your time. Just make sure your slaves are in range for the XP. I vaguely remember getting a level or 2 per run and runs really don't take that long. If your classic mage isn't that well geared it might just not be that efficient. Alternatively if you don't want a tank, but maybe want another 60 on your account, you could always level some other dps class and use a casting macro to dps from it.

I'm personally playing warrior + 3 mages + priest. I suspect that I will be less efficient but this playstyle fits me a little better.

It's interesting because the level 10's are getting very little XP in there (maybe 2 -3 bars per clear). The mage is clearing each room (before the lockout) in one pull so I think he's geared enough.

Ok, so, here is something to consider when boosting.

Your characters levels determine the XP you get to a large degree. So, deadmines are mostly level 18ish mobs. You're level 10. You're actually leaving a considerable chunk of XP on the table. I want to say that in the prime levels, like 15ish, I was getting ~60-70% per clear. Deadmines is also a terrible boosting instance because the majority of the XP, and I literally mean the majority, in the final 2 areas. Most of the sections prior to the boat, are mostly non-elites, the goblins are elites, but they are kind of annoying compared to the last sections.

At level 10, you'd actually probably make better XP per hour doing one of the hyper spawns in Westfall. I'd actually recommend you just go grind the Defias at the windmill until level 14. Then go to SFK. Your mage will OBLITERATE SFK, everything is elite. You will make stupid XP just through pull size. SFK used to be one of my go to dungeons for boosting back in the day, I think you can clear it in 4 pulls, including the first little pull, and can move your lowbies up just a few times, and they will capture the XP from the last couple pulls due to the snakeyness of the zone. You can reset by jumping off the ramparts, instead of zoning out. If you jump off the castle (I might be misremembering), you can actually zone out which shaves reset time.

It will also get faster and faster as you go in SFK, because as you gain levels, you will get more xp per kill, until you top out in your low 20's.

This is super helpful and makes a lot of sense. I'll follow you plan to the low 20's then I can prob start going to SM Graveyard

Dont boost at dungeon level minimums,
Also super helpful. I think the key here is "don't boost at dungeon level minimums". Thank you!

Sounds like a waste of time. You should find that once you get to SM or ZF the xp penalty will be less. I would really just recommend playing with a full team. You'll be way more efficient and I find it's easier than running around with a 60.
