I'm going to give the comp a try just to see how I like it compared to my warlocks. I probably won't focus too much on leveling it fast but I'll use up the rested XP every few days.
Think I might go with a paladin rather than a priest though.
currently lv 58 almost, so 2 days and I'll release few videos.
nearly 1 shotting 35k health bosses.

Can you think of any reason why swapping the priest for a paladin would reduce the efficacy of the group? I've already got my paladins and I'm not a huge fan of how squishy priests are in PvP.
preshield and renew with double dispell is extremly good, but thing is in pvp when you get jumped by 3/4 melee, holy nova with amplify magic (improved) and with 10/10 healing (you can choose to go 10% mana for loss of 10% healing ,still debating that one and with let's say 300/400 healing (super easy to get in p1 as you get roughly 40 healing per item ) your holy nova rank 6 with all that scaling with roughly heal you from 400-500 per 1 single gcdand it wilkl roughly do 250 dmg.
Also, the spirit plus stamina is hugeeee deal in pvp given how mages have really low hp (the shadow buff can be provided by paladin).
But also, don't forget that casters don't present threat at all, so you can always keep amplify magic on. Since melee's are huge deal in classic this counters them so heavily it's joke.
Plus, with invicibility pots (1g per 1, super cheap) you're monster truck on roids. Pala would be good only for buffs pvp wise and pve wise better option then 4th mage/disc.
the good news is that with pala bubble you can make some insane pulls for gold![]()

Didn't think it scaled that well. The coefficient is pretty poor. The mana cost is pretty prohibitive too. 5-6 Casts and you're OOM, right? I guess in PvP it's not about efficiency though, just need to stay alive long enough for the mages to cast a few arcane explosions and kill everything.
I just hate the idea of my healer being GCD'd by a couple of melees in PvP. Paladins are so tanky and provide BoP, etc. I also thought with righteous fury on you could do enough TPS to hold agro on a boss long enough for mages to cast a few spells before you bubble. Could be pretty useful for killing difficult bosses.
I can see the use of being able to spam holy nova/bubble to kite though. Tough choice.
As far as bursting bosses down, I imagine with PoM/Pyro spec and around 200 spell damage you could arcane power and hard cast pyroblast then pom/pyro into fire blast. That's roughly 3200 damage per mage (1300+1300+600.) Not sure how you get to 8000+.

Well, with mage int buff and 10% more mana, you can squeeze in around 7 k mana. That's roughly 10 casts. More then enough to nuke anything. Plus, you got spirit regen so some of your mana will get back to you with all that spirit/mp5.
Also, 400-500 is for healing only, not for damage. Still, that is insane for aoe dmg and healing. Most people will do 400,500 dmg in 2 gcd. So with shield and that damage they will die in 2 gcd.
Also, I did math and HWL gear on locks and mages is almost no difference (tiny) so you're looking at same health pool (no 15% talent and imp) but still.
You can notice that why shamans were that good in TBC? I'ts all about burst damage in this game. As soon as enemy recovers>FUBAR.
