Escort quests - are they working for anyone?

Every single escort quest I have done only applies quest credit for the lead character. Is this happening to anyone else? I have literally stayed in mele range of the NPC for the entire escort and still only received credit on the lead character. There is a comment related to this in the link below but this doesn't feel like something that was an issue in original WoW, at least I have no recollection of this problem consistently back in vanilla.

it happends sometimes when you use EMA to accept them

if you manually accept the escort quest After accepting it on your main

it doesnt happen

Haven't tried shutting down EMA's quest accept features, will give it a shot and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the suggestion!

Escort quests works perfectly as long as you DON'T manually accept them with all toons by broadcasting. All you need is EMA activated, accept the quest on your main and it will automatically share and accept with all your toons.

it took me a few painfully long escort quests to figure this out. But yea, the ones that would get me are ones that you have a turn in at the escort npc, so it was habit to complete the quest on all toons and hit accept.( like the robo chicken ones ). After having to a do a few 3 times in a row, i am now trained to complete the quest...then close the quest window on all toons and only accept on main.


This would be a good topic for a tips and tricks sticky thread lol! i wish i had seen this before i learned the hard way!

To the rest of the replies on this thread, thank you. You are correct, I repeated the escorts without broadcasting on all clients to start the quest and instead starting on one and accepting via broadcast on the others and that seems to have resolved it. Thanks everyone!

The only issue is you don't know if you don't read carefully that a quest is an escort or not, I wonder if there is a way to tell from within an addon to avoid the issue systematically (I've done the infuriating thing more than once too)

This is true, and even some that are "protect this area" quests will be treated, internally, the same as an escort, even though no NPCs are actually being escorted anywhere. I believe there's one in Loch Modan that has this behavior, but it's been a long time, so I could be mis-remembering.
