Default Wow Classic ISboxer - Couple noob questions

    Greetings,

Old hardware multi-boxing guy. Last night, decided to bite the bullet and go back to multi-boxing. I use to do it in days past right after BC. But I did it all via hardware. I did hardware because software didn't exist, the ones that popped up there was nothing official and I was afraid I'd get banned using them.

Things certainly have come a long way! My favorite part so far is not sitting next too 5 PCS running and slowly cooking me to death in discomfort from heat and noise. I'll never forget those electric bills either. Costs a lot too run 5 PCS and 2 AC units!

So in only a couple hours of time (which I surprised my self) I was successful on setting up all 5 to login to the correct windows. Verified follow/assist is working correctly. Only leveled 2-3 times as I messed about with it. Then spent the rest of the night in deep research.

I setup and exported formation (untested)
    Setup and exported View(4) (untested).

Which point I took a deep dive on how to do healing. The procedures I've found I think I got it, looks pretty straight forward. Tonight I think I can get that working without much issue.

There are a couple things I lack knowledge on and could use some suggestions is this.
Crowd Control. Not sure what my options are for this. I saw one video (don't remember or if it's even using ISboxer) He would sheep one target each with mages, pull, then DPS the main target. If CC broke he could hit one key bind and re-sheep wouldn't having to re-target it. It looked amazing. If there is a video/topic that goes over that specific setup I'd appreciate the link.

The other is looting from the main screen on other characters. Example: You have skinning, or you want to loot a quest item with another in your group from your tank, you simply click it with your tank and one of your DPS guys loots the quest item or skins it.

I didn't get to test it but I did set a key for interactive target, I thought perhaps that might be it. I assigned and exported it but I got a little carried away before I noticed the time and had to call it a night before I did a test.

Thanks for any words of wisdom!

Edit: Wow has times changed I just noticed my old picture/avatar and can't believe I still had hair.

For the mages thing, I assume he had 2 binds for polymorph. The first would be a standard, round robin with mages in a target action group, and the second would probably be a /targetlasttarget /cast polymorph macro. I've never done this myself but this would be my go-to for that particular action.

For the looting, yes IWT will loot/skin from your slaves.

    Thanks for the reply!

So when I logged in yesterday I could no longer control my movement A or D. After fooling around with it a while I found that IWT was the cause. I simply removed that key bind and set to none and then I was good to go. I'll try setting this key again. I had set it to the G key. For whatever reason it doesn't like that.

Probably has something to do with G being a default bind somewhere I'd imagine. I assume you had G as your keybind on all 5 clients and also as your IWT keymap in ISBoxer? Personally I use Alt+G but I have that mapped to a side button on my mouse.

Classic doesn't have focus targets, so we can't /cast [@focustarget] Sheep the way we can on retail.

And I haven't tried /cast [@party1target] damage_spell to see if that would be able to work as a flip-flop workaround.

The way I do it is just target the mob and press my IWT key. Whoever can loot or skin it just does it if they're in range or runs over and does it if not.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

    Thanks Ughmah!

I have everything sorted and made good progress. Reached lvl 22 with my team. Priest, lock, mage x2, tank.

Only thing I have failed to setup is the CC macro. Now that I had some time with it, i'll have to get that sorted along with some UI changes. My regions for click healing has been getting in the way when trying to do talent points, so i'll have to move some things around.

The problem with using targetlasttarget is that it relies on you only changing targets once in combat. If you need to switch DPS, counterspell or any number of other reasons you might want to change targets your last target obviously changes which will mess up your poly.

A more reliable method is to set up a multi-step keymap, each step sending assist to a different mage and use the mages active target to poly. Then you can [@party1target] your frostbolts.

I've never had reason to check but I'm sure there'd be a way to set up a "FTL party# target" in ISBoxer that would allow you to dynamically swap which "party#target" is being used to actively target and send DPS keys to your other characters. I know this system exists for games like SWTOR that only have basic /follow and /assist macros.
