With sanctuary, ret aura and consecration AE threat shouldn't really be an issue on paladins. The issue is staying alive. Paladins take a lot more damage than warriors.

Should have a really high block rate if a lot of mobs are comming and you have this equipped:

That with redoubt would be 80%+ block rate before factoring block points and other skills.
Do you know what that Paladin's build was?
If he was only Retribution he likely could switch to Ret-Reckoning so he could do his base DPS and leverage any crits on the main tank to proc Reckoning on himself via 'Blessing of Sacrifice'.
It looks like this was actually a bug in Vanilla where righteous fury was only supposed to cause threat for damaging abilities. But should they change it in Classic? It was a bug so they might change it, but it was in Vanilla so they might leave it in. Wait and see I guess.
