    Default New 3 box help

    Hello all!

This is my first post and I'm hoping for some tips/advice. I have now 3 accounts, one dosen't yet have TBC. I've only 2 boxed in the past and that has been me just powerleveling an alt. I'm considering trying my hand at 3 box. From what I have read here most recommend starting off as a single class for all 3 toons.

I'd like some recommendations on what class would be the easiest and at the same time a powerfull trio. I play on a PvE realm so PvP is not a concern.

Also I was wondering if you all think I can run the 3 accounts on my one system: A q6600 2.4ghz, 4 gigs ram, 2xGT8800s, Vista 64?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I tribox and your system puts mine to shame so yea you'll be fine :p Start with mages to get the hang of it early on then switch(or start) with Shamen because they're most viable in all situations you'll encounter

...says the druid fanboi? I'm surprised Eteocles Like he said though, grab 3 of any ranged class really... lvl to 10 or 15 just to get the hang of macros, moving, etc... then make whatever group you REALLY want to play. Most people change their minds early on in the process.

    Thanks for the tips!

I'm not too familiar with the Shaman class being a alliance fanboi since beta. I made one and got him to 22 when TBC first came out. I'm curious about the viability of 3 Paladins? I love the class and have the most experiance with it in all 3 builds. I have considered doin one spec in each tree. Not sure how hard that would be to 3 box though. I gues as you all have suggested it's best to start with a squishie to learn the ropes!

Has anyone here tried 3 Paladins? I'm just not sold on the Shaman, what makes them so great?

I have 3 palas, though granted they're only lv6; the main problem you'll have with them is they're primarily a Melee class if not healers. Melee breaks /follow, and frankly /follow is everything to a multiboxer. It's possible but you're gonna be re-setting follow after every single fight, possibly multiple times during each fight if the mobs move around any.

If you're dead set on palas though, the above suggestion is good, start with mages you don't expect to lvl very far just to learn how your macros and assists will work, and learn/practice the timing delay between hitting /assist focus and the time it takes for your Focus' target to actually update(if you go the Focus route vs party1 or /target Charname route), then try palas once you've got a good understanding because you'll have enough info to absorb as it is without dealing with the complications Melee adds lol

And yeah, Shamen are simply uber ;p Boxed Boomkin are pretty much just good if supported by someone else misdirecting enemy hate or for stacking moonfires; a solo boomkin can do great, but boxing them makes it alot more complicated since alot of my strategies tend to depend on abusing flight form and perching and it's hard enough to land on a thin branch as one fatass lazer-firing space turkey, let alone as 3. Shamen simply have everything Boomkins have without having to give up 9k armor to heal themselves and more in the fact that their pets aren't fucking retards + so many insta-cast spell choices and decent buffs.

    Mail Armor /w Shields (anti-squishy)
Totem of Wrath Stacks (PvE spec'd)
Instant cast 100% to crit chain lightning ever 3 minutes (EM + NS + CL) (PvP spec'd)
Tremor Totems- stacks you are near unfearable
Grounding Totems - Makes mages and warlocks cry
+a crap load of other totems

... and the list goes on and on.
This, plus the simple but underrated fact that when you aren't healing, your 5th toon isn't standing there holding his cod and is actually contributing to the DPS significantly.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

Yes! This is why people are so amazed that you can run instances without a tank. A 5 shammy team is doing ~166% of the damage of the traditional tank, 3 dps, healer combo. Typically, the tank is hardly doing damage, and the healer is doing no damage. 5 shammies melt faces.
