All classes in blue gear are mediocre compared to t3 gearing. Preraid BiS warriors still out-DPS all other classes by a fair margin. Arcanite reaper is broken in t1 PvP and warriors get some of the best preraid items available from hand of justice to BoE epics like cloudkeeper legplates.

Also, one of the best 1H weapons in the game is super easy to acquire through farming Naxx trash. Not unique so you can equip two of them.

Warriors are the most popular class but also the most desired class in raids. So, while classes like warlocks, hunters and druids may be less played, they also receive far fewer raid slots. You don't want more than 1-2 druids in a raid, 3 warlocks, 2-3 hunters, etc. At least 8/40 slots will go to warriors. For speed runs you can see 12+.

1/2 Paladins could heal fine in PvP though you don't have a lot of the mobile healing tools priests do and a single paladin is pretty easy to spell lock out of the holy tree. That's why I always prefer 2.

Also, the way soulstone and spirit of redemption work together is pretty OP. If they focus your priest you just keep reapplying soulstones and you get 10 seconds of free, uninterruptable healing every time you die.
Very thorough insight and greatly appreciated.

If I finishing taking a 4Warlock+Priest team to cap with my 3Warriors+2Paladins I will be able to mix/match the healers spec capable character as all 3 are on separate accounts so I could for example do 1Paladin+1Priest+3Warlocks as well for WPVP. In the end I want to what is best for getting my Paladin Main the higher/better WPVP rankings so even fine with him going solo/duo healer in large scale WPVP if more helpful.

Is a tank a necessity for grinding in instances ? do 5 voidwalkers can tank wthout a healer ? can 5 SP heal enough and deal damage without a tank ?

I am pretty sure the feedback is that multiple voidwalkers can pull off at least most tanking in dungeons with a full healer behind them. 5 Warlocks with no healer can't. So a Tank class may not be needed for much with 4 Warlocks but a Healer will be.
