I spent quite some time trying multiple group combos and recorded the data :

takeaways / surprises (for me):

You can be in raid and kill out in the world in Classic and get xp as long as everyone hits the mob

Group bonus for 5 and 4 are the same (or very close/ in noise)

Whichever number of character, the total xp extracted from a single mob is always higher with more characters in party/raid

In BfA you actually get MORE xp in per toon in a raid than 2x4 (at the cost of having to land dmg on all 8 to get that xp)

And reminder: you can enter most dungeons in raid of 10 in Classic and then don't need to have all hit a mob to share the xp (waiting for someone to confirm there is also no change to the above multipliers in that case)

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Looks like if you are farming mobs for XP and have ten accounts, may as well put them all in a raid to do so. And doing dungeons as a raid of 10 might be much faster and more beneficial XP-wise.

I assume in Classic that if you are in a raid your toons still won't get quest credit, right?

Other than KennyMarsh, the players still in the race are grinding as much as they can in Zul'Furrak. Something that just started recently with players in the Classic Race to World First have been doing Raid Groups of up to 10 players in Dungeons. This was technically possible in Vanilla, but players aren't entirely sure this is the most effective way to farm experience quickly. There seems to be some conversation happening on its effectiveness, even amongst players in the race.
