How's Everyone Progressing so Far and What's Your Group Comp?

I just reached level 20 with Warri, Priest, 2Mages and a WL. Currently running through DeadMines with 7300 XP an hour and roughly 50 Silver per character. I will need another 8 Runns till i am able to enter stockades.

Level 39 on my Pally, Preist, 3 Mages. Over 8 days played. I keep wanting to enjoy the zones and quest, but the ganking makes me want to just hurry up and level. Got it bad on the boat, got killed by 2 skulls, a rogue and his healer. I almost got the rogue after he wiped out half my team, but his healer saved him just in time. Didn't even know if I can fight on the boat, anyway I got knocked off the boat In the middle of Fatigue land, and had to eventually take the rez sickness. Only to be greeted by my friends who kept killing me and making rude gestures. This went on for a while, but I outlasted them and waited till the coast was clear to rez.

I got it rough this time, I tell ya. I'm trying so hard to get ahead of the pack, been playing all day pretty much this week.

Level 27.5 now after 3+ days played on 5 fire mages. I'm at that point where i can aoe down pretty big groups of mobs my own level.

Hey i have 3 teams around lvl 40 switching back and forth and while accumulating rested xp.

1. Team 4x warrior and a shaman

I was really looking forward to playing this team for quite a while before release. i am kinda disappointed, looking after the positioning of the warriors is very annoying to me but it gets shit done.

2. Team 4xmage and a priest

Super faceroll team, ice armor snare goes a long way with this. Most of the time i was exclusively aoe farming dungeons just by pulling 2-4 packs and spamming arcane explosion and holy nova while running circles to keep incoming damage low. nice oneshots in pvp when you get shatter. its pretty hilarious when you met another dungeon group at the entrance and 3 gcd they are all dead.

3. Team 4xWarlock and a priest

ran dungeons until 30 with the cookie cutter spec, then had a brainfart and respecced the warlocks into destro to try aoeing with hellfire and priest spamming prayer, it doesnt work very well for me, i believe the stun talent has a diminishing return and stacking up while being spammed by 4 warlocks super quickly, effectively cutting 3s stuns down to 1.5 and 0.75 and stunimunity or whatever the timings are. but spamming hellfire is super hilarious for bombing away other factions dungeon groups.

Im not super sure if i play the warrior team correctly or if i use IWT correctly. once i hit the button twice rapidly the toons are moving through the enemy and walking into a wall.

Im thinking about starting 5 elemental shamans or 4 elemental shamans and something else because i already have a shaman with the warrior team but for now i keep leveling the mage team

was regular affliction, doting mobs and facetanking the damage, priest was holy

well i experimented with diffrent talents on the warlocks, improved drain soul might be good leveling solo but becomes pretty useless in a party.

i also dont feel like improved agony or improved drain life is worth it, fel concentration on the other hand felt very worth it to me. i guess i will respec again and learn something like this https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-c...50500051220201

Currently 39 with 3.5 days played on my 4x warrior 1 shaman team. Been doing SM armory (about 15 kills on herod so far) and only 1 ravager. Starting to get frustrated so I may rest them up and try a different team for a little bit.

I just hit 40 on my team last night. man, I'm very impressed with those of you who are 60 or near! Do you have jobs? school? lol im playing in all my spare time now days. Im at 8 days, 20 hours played lol! i hit 40 with enough for 4 mounts.. so ill be farming gold today. Not sure if SM is best for that or just running around killing skinable mobs in some 40+ zone. I can gather as many as wont leash back if they are not eletes lol. The grey items on some of the beasts ( ie blions,, tigers and bears!) stack and can add up fast!

I just want to say, at 58 I swapped my 31/20 fury arms spec to 31/20 arms/fury. This is, in my opinion, the superior aoe leveling spec for warriors. I'm a little upset that I knew that it was probably better, but I persisted with fury for so long.

In short, the opening aoe burst from sweeping strikes into whirlwind, or mortal strikes, is so vastly superior to a fury build that it's almost stupid that I only spent about 4 hours and one level with it back at level 36 or 37.

To give you an idea of the difference it has made for me. In most 4-6 pack aoe situations, I would typically have 1 warrior do MAYBE 300 DPS(edge case here not using ravager), and the other 3 do 120-200. By swapping back to sweeping strikes, all 4 warriors will often finish the fight north of 250-300 dps. The opening burst is just far higher.

The downside is, you will probably lose some sustain, which will hurt your boss fights which when you are running all melee, can be problematic against any sort of heavy aoe mechanics.

Based upon our earlier discussions I switched both of my following slaves from Fury to Arms and I did see a significant improvement after switching...

I am hoping it is possible to get the best of both worlds and have the sustain on my lead warrior (changed temporarily to Fury for testing) by feeding him the rage and making him the "designated snowball" with my slaves sweeping up with sweeping strikes...

Unfortunately I have been too busy with work to finish my testing and think it will be better once I get WhirlWind at 36 (only 32/33 at the moment). After level 36 I will do my best to redo any testing done before and report back.
