Playing solo to farm gold is always an option. I must ask, though: why are you gold farming in Classic? Retail is SOOOOO much easier to farm gold in. I'm not sure anybody that's been paying attention is going to play classic to farm gold (except for the gold farmers spamming us last night). They/we all knew it was much harder than retail in terms of the lack of super-EZ-mode skills and macros and addons and weak mobs and infinite mana and not having to deal with standing still while casting and no hunter deadzone and etc. Yes. This is how things were intended to be by design. They already have plans to nerf things that add retail-like LFG tools and some other convenience addons.
The good news is your sub pays for both classic and retail, so you can do either one at any time. EZPZ!

With 5 mages, u have not really any defence, no heals if they resist spells, (which Im seeing alot)

I think a 5 Lock team for free mount is a good farm team just to make gold.. I am doing this to make stuff/send money for my solo character.
If f.ex 1 wow token costs 200k gold in retail, will it also be possible to buy 1 wow token via "gold earned in classic", lets say f.ex 2000g ?

Like you, I tried 5 and it did not go well. Today I've been running a priest and paladin and it's going amazing. They're tough enough to take down anything, can heal someone in trouble from 0 to full in one cast and they make questing much faster. I might try three tomorrow and see how it goes, but dual boxing has been a lot of fun.
I was kinda expecting some tips and help, instead of the rubbing it in and the I told you so's. Thank you for all that answered my questions though.
I want to gold farm to be able to get my mount, my enchant, potions n flasks at max level and be done with worrying about it. As someone who discovered gold farming late in retail, being broke sucks. I also have 5 active WoW accounts open, so I might as well use them.
I figured with multiboxing I can level all the toons I need at endgame, and get gold at the same time. As I said in all my post's, I've never played vanilla. I didn't know that you get the same amount of loot as either a single character or 20 of them. With all the hype going on here I figured I wasn't alone in my plans.
It's pretty fun, apart from the loot problem like I mentioned before, but thats my fault for not knowing how to get around gather and low drop rate quests.
I'm boxing my main, a paladin, with 1 priest and 3 mages. Things die very fast, it's fun, but I'm having trouble finding a use for my priest. I just spam spite on him, but I know at higher levels and in dungeons I'm going to have to learn to use him to heal. Now I do all my healing on my paladin, which is supposed to be the tank.
I use HotkeyNet, because paying for Isboxer is not an option. I need to figure out if I can use some kind of mouse over macro healing for my priest when I'm driving from my paladin. Whether or not that's possible in Hotkeynet, I don't know.
Tonight I was able to reach lvl 19 with my 5 man. It consists of 1 prot warrior, 3 fury warriors, and a resto shaman. I had a rather difficult WC run, but eventually did it. I am now debating on dropping multi boxing entirely. I do not think multiboxing fits as well for classic. One of the main reasons for coming back to classic is for social interaction that retail lacks. Multi-boxing (especially 5 man) puts you right back in position of playing a MMO but solo. I have also found it stressful/draining to constantly do dungeons where I need to be at 200% focus due to controlling all 5 characters.
The class I want as my main, shaman, has been reduced into a simple follow heal bot. I have been playing a lot and lvl 19 is all I can accomplish yet friends are 30+. I am starting to think that I have made a huge mistake thinking that multiboxing would be fun, worth it, and challenging. It certainly has been challenging. It hasn't really been fun at all, moreso stressful, and thus I am questioning if its worth it. I am concerned that I am cheapening my classic experience by multi-boxing.
Anyways, I will sleep on it tonight, but I really don't like the feeling I get that classic doesn't feel like classic due to boxing.
