LFG addon being banned and blizzard restricting what the API's can do will this effect EMA

Hey Everyone,

There has been a twitter/reddit storm about some LFG addon where blizz have said that they will restrict the classic API's to break the addon. Anyone know if this could have any effect on our addons?

it depends what they actually change in the api which is unclear at this point
(ditto for DynamicBoxer which uses addon channel comms but has also workarounds used in BfA for non connected cross realms that could be used in Classic too if needed)

I can confirm that EMA does *NOT* appear to be affected by whatever change they made, assuming it was live at launch.

The bluepost said it should be added in the weeks after the launch so it shouldn't be active yet.

Thus, in an upcoming patch (in the weeks following launch), we will be adding restrictions to the Classic add-on API that will significantly limit this add-on and others like it.

Is there a PTR where we can test the patch before it hits the live Classic WoW servers?

I would think they would do it on the addon "custom channels" that ema does not use so it would still be ok to use guild/party/raid as there no point having a lfg addon use guild comms and if your your in the parry raid then you alreasy found the group pmsl
