I find it best to use 'Advanced Search' and to have it return posts instead of threads. It helps to have already read the threads as I kinda know what I am looking for &/or may remember who was advocating what though using advanced search is still viable/helpful in you haven't already read the threads.

I think Horde can still leverage the concepts some (but to a lessor degree) and unfortunately there isn't a fully mapped out approach for Horde that has been publicly shared that anyone has posted into our dual-boxing forums (that I remember seeing at least).
