Default Some help to a new multiboxer!

alright, i wanted to multi box after i saw a hunter doing like 5boxing, and it was sick... checked this site he referred me to... and pretty much it looks fun.

i went out and made 2 trial accounts, and made 2 warlocks, it is fun... but im having some movement issues. all of the threads that i have seen so far have been informative, but not answering my specific questions.

i am having movement problems... like one char will go off in one direction and wont turn good with my other... i find my self right clicking and turning with the mouse often, and that screws it up, and i have to do crazy maneuvering to get back togather with the otherchar... is there a way i can make it so that both char's are right next to eachother, if not inside one another at all times, like they follow reallly closely at all times...

plz help me, and thanks for the info the site already has to offer.

Are you using keyclone, or some other App for your key passes?

Heya systm and welcome to the forums!

well, you'll want to create a /follow macro for your alts and have them /follow your main.

then put your movement keys (WASD, shift+WASD, alt+WASD, control+WASD) on the do-not-pass list (you should add NUMLOCK as well.. or whatever your auto-run is)

the DNP list can be found under keyclone/ setup/do-not-pass

if you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to drop me a note.

good luck and welcome to multi-boxing

Then most likely your problem is you need to not pass the different ctrl/alt/shift versions of your movement keys. Just adding WASD or up/down/left/right to the do-not-pass list typically will not take care of it, as it's too easy to be in the middle of another command and hit them. I had the same issue you did, and after adding the modifier versions of my movement keys I now rarely get the issue. You will still occasionally get a runner due to lag and the like, but it's much less frequent.

this works very well! but one problem... i want my char to follow really closely, like almost inside the other char, and im not sure how to make him do that... cus it causes problems with him following from such a far distant. such as hitting into walls and stopping the following...

any way for this to be done? plz help!!

thanks again to both of you for replying!!

the following distance is set by wow and there is no ability to change it (to the best of my knowledge...)

basically, think of yourself as driving a truck with a trailer. you take turns wider... and slow up a bit when arriving.
    same idea.
try to take things from a distance if you can.. this will give you the most time and will allow your facing to be correct 99% of the time.

in close within buildings and hallways takes a bit more... but if your characters start off with the correct facing, you can just back straight up and the NPCs will be right in front of all your characters (be careful here... takes practice)

remember, along with WASD you also have the arrow keys... use those for group movements

aah, but now that im trying this DNP thing... its kinda not working well can you explain what to do when setting the keys, is there something special to do?

nothing really special... hit 'clear' .. then click where it says 'click here and hit a key'...
then hit WASD .. hold down shift then hit WASD again .. then control + WASD and alt+WASD

personally, i also add my auto-run key... which is NUMLOCK by default

    make sure white-list is UNCHECKED

    then hit ok

if you've done it right, hitting W on your main will move him forward, and the rest will just stand still.
then put the /follow macro on each of your clones... and put the macro icon into your action bar on a slot that WILL NOT be used by your main.
then get on your main.. hti the follow key... and hit W. all your alts should now be behind your main

btw, if your password has WASD in it.. you will want to override the DNP list when entering your pword. go to keyclone/setup/override settings and set the hotkey

alright, now it works really well. thanks!

but im wondering if you have any sort of tips or something for caster / ranged classes to control them well?
