Default Dual Boxing 2 Melee Classes with Keyclone

Hi there,

I am new to this and having issues 2 boxing (on the same computer) with keyclone. I want to level both a rogue and a warrior, I made an assist and a follow macro for the rogue, but he never seems to follow close enough to hit the target. Also I usually steer the characters with the keyboard, but sometimes change direction with the mouse - which causes one character to run at another angle than the other.

Are these just things im going to have to get used to, or is there something that I am doing wrong?

Thank you. ( I think ill roll a Hunter + Warlock for now )

g'evening Shaun and welcome to the forums!

check this thread.. i think it might answer some of your questions: Some help to a new multiboxer!

btw... melee classes are considered tough to multi-box. running 2 is even tougher. my suggestion might be to run your warrior as a tank.. make him your main... and have mages for dps support.

if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

good luck and welcome to multi-boxing!

Even if you run through the mob with the warrior? I know the mobs sometimes path all over the place and it is not always easy to get the two characters on opposite sides but theoretically it should be doable.

Once you can get shadowstep it might be slightly easier. You can hotkey Charge+Shadowstep, the only issue will be the long cooldown on shadowstep.

Another option is to lead with the rogue, charge mobs with the warrior (breaks follow) and stealth/open with the rogue from behind the mob, ie cheapshot, garotte, ambush. The cooldown on charge might be annoying.

You can always stealth with the rogue and the warrior on follow, the warrior gets aggro and you just wait for the mob to engage (autoattack breaks follow so you just need to let the warrior take a swing at the mob) and then the rogue opens from stealth.

I have the same problem with my 2 palladin's ... yes I am ret-arded.

as they level it shouldnt be that much of a problem as 1 will be more of a healer/support than main damage dealer.

The way I get round it is to fight the mob while the main is positioned right ontop of the mob, then the clone will be in mellee range. Or you run through the mob, swivle 180 degrees and autoattack, your clone would be behind the mob now dps'ing away nicely.

TBH the animation lag/ follow problem, acts as more of a blessing cause by the time the clone starts doing damage, my main has enough agro so she wont get hit, and can focus on healing if necessary.

Since I started this fairly blind, and thinking it would be nice to have a tank/damage dealer and healing combo, what are the thoughts on dual-boxing pallies?

also I have a 70 warlock, so I may go 3 boxing once 70.

I believe the quote from the sticky on class selection ([WoW] Dual-Boxing Powerleveling Class Guide) has this to say about dualboxing Pal/Pal: Are you retarded?

But, if you're having fun, go nuts.

Well I did read that after I got to lvl 10. now I cba to go back and change it.

over all it's working well, dual blessings, dual auras, chaining the hammer of justice FTW. 1 healer, 1 tank. seems ideal. just got the animation follow lag problem, but seen some ideas here to try .

the best though is double bubble hearth!

ohh and my arena team will be called, either Bubble Bobble, or Bubble Trouble if not already taken.

Still got loads to overcome and learn.

I just came to the site looking for help with this question too. I'm working with a Pally and a rogue, mostly just to get them leveled. My main dual-box team is 2 priests, which works great, but I'm having trouble even figuring out how to get started.

My thought was finding an unused key on the main and binding that to "move forward" on the other toon(rogue).

Thought I'm also thinking about switching to the rogue as main and Pally as clone.

Keep the idea flowing!
2box:
Theals & Tmelts - lvl 65 Disc/Holy and Shadow priests - Kul Tiras
IcedT & HotTea - lvl 30 Frost and Fire mages - Perenolde
HerbalTea and Boomtee - lvl 10 Resto and Balance Druids.

Other: 70 Feral Druid, 70 Resto Shammy, 70 frost mage, 70 afflic Lock.
Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Pally in the 50-60 range.

I have alt issues.
