Lightbulb Realistic timeframe for 1-60 for a 5 man team?

Wondering about the title and some other small stuff.
I want to main rogue, and I am thinking of running a 5 man team on classic launch. Rogue, Priest/Pala(healer), Mage, Warlock, Warlock

Now one of my questions is; do you think it would be possible to set up all my multi boxing settings on the live BFA servers and use the same settings on classic wow on launch day, just by replicating slot positions and character names?
(Also having all macros ready for transferring over, with the exact name of the characters you are going to create etc)
(Even set up VFX healing with the blizzard raid frames before hand, only needing to modify classic clique upon launch)

I was also wondering about your experiences with leveling in vanilla with multi boxing, how long do you reckon it should take a 5 man team to reach level 60 in /played time on a PvP server. I am going to no life pretty much a months time from launch.

(I will be buying and using ISBoxer)

    Kind regards,

No idea how long it'll take for a 5 man team to level to 60... so many variables

As far as getting ready, if you use DynamicBoxer for Isboxer/innerspace you can start multiboxing the day/hour classic opens even if you don't have characters created yet (you do need to make your team size placeholders and setup your windows layout though; and if you start on retail, you'll need to change or clone the slots to use the classic wow profile (basically change _retail_ to _classic_ in the paths))
5 boxing wow with DynamicBoxer for isboxer, give it a try!

Yes, if the names of your characters are not the same, on Classic, then you simply need to change the Actual Character Name field of your Characters, in ISBoxer, when Classic finally goes live, and then make sure you're pointing at correct path for the game client.

Is there a way that we’ll be able to transfer over in game macros so we can use them the instant we log in for the first time on release? It would save tons of time, for me especially because I’m slower than average 😁

you can probably copy where they are saved from into the matching classic folder

Awesome, thanks for all replies so far. Got my brain going faster now, can't wait to try and multibox classic. I haven't multiboxed since a long time ago, and just recently watched all of Mirais videos to try and get ready. Also going to dive straight into Video FX to make a nice healing layout.

I think my times on my hunter and warlock teams that I started just before the release of BC were somewhere around 7-9 days /played. These were my first teams and I didn't have ISBoxer back then, so I suspect it will go a lot faster this time around.

If you straight grind instances as soon as you can efficiently do so, I'd GUESS, in the 6 days/played range. You MIGHT be able to do it faster, but the reality is, in a lot of areas you're going to be running into the lockouts at certain points. In which case, being able to run around outside for 5-10 minutes blowing up scores of stuff is also a bonus.

It's been so long, that I personally cannot recall my 5box to level 60 /played. I also did 5 shamans, and quested, and it was a nightmare, other than the fact I was essentially a raid boss for people in pvp During BC and then Cata I did multiple groups to cap purely instancing, and it was a lot quicker than my vanilla shaman experience. That said, Cata was quite a bit different and I believe I had heirlooms.

It looks like you're going to want to quest, though, instancing with voidwalker pets isn't out of the question if you overpower the instance to some degree. One thing I'd note is that, you are NOT going to enjoy questing with a 5 man team close to the launch. Classic questing was not at all smoothed out to the degree it was starting probably with about Cataclysm. You're going to run into a lot of individual collection quests, like if you play as horde, you could end up spending a day or more killing spiders in hillsbrad just to get 5 ichors. Of course you'd skip this quest boxing, but, there will be plenty of quests where you have to pickup 30-50 items per character, and the spawn rate of the area is NOT going to keep up with your kill rate, leading you to spend a lot of time waiting around.

I honestly cannot recommend enough, instancing the majority of your levels if you don't mind grinding dungeons. You're going to make more money. You will level much more quickly if your team can handle the content, and there will be far less down time. Having an enchanter to DE all the extra loot you don't need is going to make you bank. Plus, if you're planning on running say a rogue main, you will come out of a dungeon at level 60, decked out in mostly level appropriate dungeon blues, and then you can go bang out quests for the higher gold reward, to buy your epic mount, if you don't already have enough gold banked in enchanting regs you can AH.

Thanks for the updates guys, all information helps

My original plan was to mainly quest and grind mobs to 60. As I am unsure if the warlocks are able to tank dungeons for me. Maybe I'd swap one mage for 3x warlocks and that could work.
