EMA: Ebony's MultiBoxing Assistant Classic Edition

I was able to get my multibox team setup on the last stress test, I was using EMA and loved the functionality of the mod.

After a few hours though my main character got a progressively longer and longer screen freeze whenever I did anything that changed an item in my inventory (equipping items, or just looting an item in general). It was hard to notice at first but as I continued to play it would freeze for longer and longer.

Turning off EMA stopped the lag, but since I had to log out to do that it may have been another issue that the log out resolved. Did anyone else experience a similar issue?

I didn't notice this at all. Did you have something like "add quest items to item use bar" or the other similar one? That might be something Ebony didn't have time to tidy up before the stress test.

I didn't tinker with the settings at all so if that's on by default I probably did. I was only able to get on the stress test a few hours before it closed so I didn't take much time setting anything up. I'll play with that on launch though and see if that was the issue.

i had have to do some hack to add quest items to bar it was not tested for long and added on a stess test. i don't know am in the same boat as you on this atm. being how the stsss test severs where at the time the players

i don't know when u downloded it as some defaults was changed 50/50


we have to keep an hour on it and ill fix when game is live

Is the install link on this page supposed to put it in my Twitch list of addons?

I click on install and it opens a link into the Twitch PC/fat client but doesn't seem to actually install EMAC.

From the dropdown list in Twitch I have Classic selected and I also can't find EMAC.

If I change the dropdown list to _retail I do see EMA.

you have to hit "refresh" after you switch between retail and classic in the twitch app - it's a bit buggy

I am pretty sure I did that and that, after selecting classic, I fully closed the client and logged back in with no success.

I then went and downloaded the zip file manually, unzipped it, and copy/pasted it into the addon folder and now it shows up in the Twitch client...

we believe the nature of ClassicLFG is incompatible with our social design for Classic. Thus, in an upcoming patch (in the weeks following launch), we will be adding restrictions to the Classic add-on API that will significantly limit this add-on and others like it.

However, when an add-on goes beyond presenting information or providing aesthetic customization, and attempts to create an interconnected social network that relies on other players also using that same add-on, we are likely to scrutinize it particularly closely.

I assume that the way addons can communicate between users is what blizzard would restrict, so feels like it might badly affect EMA.

I could be wrong (and I hope I am wrong) but I expect this to break a lot of functionality like functionality on the Quest tab, Quest Tracker, everyone using same Flight Path.

it seems having a split project on curse doesn't work very well (ie if you have a ema-classic seperate from ema the classic only isn't searchable... hopefully they fix that bug on their side... but in the meantime maybe jennifer can just add both zip to both projects)

ps: and yes that LFG fiasco has potential implications for many other addons

The only issue I had today was:

* Team -> Party Invitations Control -> "Accept from friends" doesn't. I have to click the accept button each time. (IMO low priority)

I have not yet enabled the Item Use Bar -> auto add quest/satchel items to bar.

I had similar: "Accept from team" doesn't, but after waiting 65 mins to log in I was happy to click accept 4 times manually
