"Only one faction per realm on PvP realms" and other just announced limits

I don't remember or I forgot there was such limit
"Only one faction per realm on PvP realms"
I was planning on 5 boxing teams on the same realm both alliance and horde but now not sure what to do (probably not double my subscriptions which would be how to achieve it)

They are also limiting to 10 character per realm and 50 total (per wow account I assume and not battlenet)

I expected nothing different, especially since Blizzard has stated that they're looking at ways to mitigate cross-faction communication for Classic, most likely beyond what was already in place at that time.

You can play your horde team on a different realms.
It won't change anything since it's not the same faction so play your alliance teams on one and your horde teams on another one

[edit] It'll be bad enough as is with people doing that for gold. The Tanaris auction house will still be there if I remember correctly, though that might have come in much later than vanilla.

The reason for having both on the same realm is to transfer money and/or items through the neutral AH

Also handy if someone ninja loots you and you can come and camp them from the other faction, etc...

Classic servers having server rules from vanilla, was this not what was wanted?

my point is I don’t remember that rule, I’m pretty sure that at least in BC I had both factions or am I misremembering

It was definitely a restriction, along with not being able to transfer from PvE to PvP servers because players were to endure the difficulty of leveling on a PvP server to temper their character.

You are mis-remembering, as the server-faction restriction wasn't lifted until patch 3.2.0 in Wrath.

Multiple options:

- Playing teams on PVE servers
- Picking 1 realm for Ally 1 realm for Horde
- Focusing on only 1 faction
- 10 boxing and splitting 5 and 5
- ...Anything else?...

I might go overboard and back to 8 boxing with a 5 team and a 3 team... dunno
