Here is my super hunter pet macro for you.

/cast [@pet,exists] revive pet; [nopet] call pet 1
    /stopmacro [flying][noharm][channeling]
    /cast [@focus,help,nodead][@pet,help,exists] Misdirection

    /stopmacro [@focus, exists]
    /petautocaston [group] Growl
    /petautocastoff [raid] Growl
If pet is missing it summons. If pet is dead it revives, else it heals. If you have a focus it misdirects to him, else it misdirects to your pet. If you do not have a focus it turns growl on, else if you have a focus it leaves growl at previous setting. And if you are in LFR it turns growl off.

I can't use macros like that on an all Hunter team as I have one of my Hunters as the focus and that one Hunter would get all the aggro lol

    You could change your
    /cast mend pet
    change it to
    /cast revive pet

Casting revive pet on a pet that is alive changes it to mend pet automatically. So your macro could do both easily.
